Bethel, also named Beth Aven, was "house of God." It was a town about 10 miles north of Jerusalem. It was here that Abraham encamped (Ge 12:8; 13:3) in this beautiful pastureland. It received the name of Bethel, "house of God," because of Jacob's dream (28:10-22).
Jeroboam chose Bethel as one of the two places in which he set up golden calves (1 Ki 12:28-33). King Josiah removed all traces of idolatry and restored the true worship of Jehovah (2 Ki 23:15-20). But God departed from Bethel, for nothing can label His greatness.

By the mercy and truth of God in Jesus Christ, the sins of believers are taken away, and the power of sin is broken. On the other hand, sinners cannot escape God's judgments.
Only God knows what is best for us in our lifetime. Everything on earth is a matter of choices. The choice of ours is guided by God's wisdom and truth. The greatest blessing is that we have the Lord as our counselor, comforter, and helper.

「人一切所行的，在自己眼中看為清潔；惟有耶和華衡量人心。」(16:2)求神潔淨我，求神賜我敏銳的心，能體會神那不間斷的提醒。
「人心籌算自己的道路；惟耶和華指引他的腳步。」(16:9)我有好多這種經驗，有時勉強(罔顧聖靈的阻止)去行，結果都不太好，不一定是壞事喔！好事，我們更要學習擺在神面前，祈求、等候神的引導。

Jehoram is one Israel king but leaved and againsted God. He becomes one guy who only cares himself. He can do any cruel and evil thing just for his desire. At the end of his life, he still needs to face to God. May Lord help me to have wisdom to fear Lord.

我們會思慕對我們的生命有正面影響的人，約蘭生前的表現，不僅沒有人思慕他，甚至不把他當王來葬，所謂「蓋棺論定」，約蘭在上帝寶座前恐怕也很難"交待"。

Jehoshaphat gave the kingdom to Jehoram because he was his first-born son. The selection of a successor should not be based on the birth order but on whether the targeted one is virtuous or not.
Not everyone can stay sensible when power and the throne is in hand. Jehoram's reign, which ended with notoriety, was a telling example. He did evil in the eyes of the Lord. Well goes a saying, "Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely."

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory" (1 Tim. 3:16).
Jesus Christ is a mystery. Sometimes, I still cannot believe I could have such opportunity to rebuild the relationship with God by Jesue Christ. The problem is what is my attitdue to think about this mystery. Do I always thanks God for this mystery? Do I always think about Jesus Chris in my daily living? Do I honor Jesus Christ in my behavior and words? May Lord help me to fully understand this mystery.

Jesus Christ is a mystery. Sometimes, I still cannot believe I could have such opportunity to rebuild the relationship with God by Jesue Christ. The problem is what is my attitdue to think about this mystery. Do I always thanks God for this mystery? Do I always think about Jesus Chris in my daily living? Do I honor Jesus Christ in my behavior and words? May Lord help me to fully understand this mystery.

耶穌道成肉生，為我們的罪釘死在十架上三日後復活，顯現了祂的人性與神性。我們透過耶穌基督復活，表明了聖靈的能力在我們的生命裏面運行，使我們得以成聖，將來在天家與神共享永生與榮耀。
如何過敬虔的生活?
第一要為萬人懇求、禱告、代求、祝謝使我們可以敬虔、端正、平安無事的度日；做神所喜悅的兒女，做榮神益人的事。
