The woman demonstrated great courage when pleading for help with her daughter, possessed by a demon. I believe whoever is compared to a dog seldom keeps calm, yet the woman made it. She further replied Jesus with wits, toning down the insulting words. Her daughter's recovery was indeed a revelation of the woman's enormous faith.

Peter had greater faith in the Lord than the crowds did, so he asked the Lord to bid him go to Him on the water. Why he sunk was because he focused his attention on the strong wind. Sometimes our confidence wanes so we will be afraid.

But most of the time, I admit that I am like Peter, who would cry out when fearing about being deserted or lost. In fact, the Lord, our counselor, helper or comforter is always beside us.

The kingdom of heaven is more precious than treasure and the pearl. When we encounter it, we should spare no effort to go for it. It is unwise for those who take highly of treasure and the pearl since they are of little value in the kingdom of heaven. But the premise is that we should be able to distinguish what is precious and what is not just as the angels will come out and separate the evil from the righteous (Mt 13:49).
