從前剛信主的時候,還覺得自己是好土,對神的話充滿了渴慕...日子久了,加上越來越多其它的責任,似乎荊棘在不知不覺中長了出來,三不五時還飛來烏鴉...就像現在,打字的當兒,還有一個小孩來擰我的臉,希望我注意他...
然而,這些都是可以克服的,有人在更艱難的環境中仍然緊抓住神的話,長出生命的果實,我怎能有藉口呢?

對雅各：
因著母親的一句話，一無所有地來投靠母舅。沒有想到面對不是溫暖的關懷，而是心機算盡對待，一過就是20年。寄人籬下的日子，忍氣吞聲。但卻也因此，看見神是為他申冤的神。保守他面對拉班的算計時，可以安然度過。
對拉班：
雖然因著雅各，有機會認識耶和華，但一心所關心的卻是自己的產業。追求物質之致，竟不顧對方是自己女兒終身所依。只在乎他是否奪了自己的產業，卻看不見因著女婿，神給他(拉班)的祝福已是有餘的。
對利亞、拉結：
在父、夫之爭中，選擇支持丈夫，我想也是因為對父親失望吧！
最大的感觸～～
來巴旦亞蘭前，雅各是自己算計，追求他所要的一切。前往母舅家的途中與耶和華的相遇改變他。在拉班家的生活雖沒有太多與神互動的記載，但從他自己的描述中，可以看出這20年的生活，他一直仔細的數算神的恩典。深刻地體會、經歷神看顧他一切所有。20年的時間熬練一個人……。願自己也能如雅各，細查生活中神的作為、保守，不為自己申冤，等候神為我申冤。

然而耶和華的眼目始終看顧著他

..耶和華對雅各說：你要回你祖、你父之地，到你親族那裡去，我必與你同在。..31:3
才改變了一切
人生的苦情 神都看見
只是 等候是必然
神的眼目看顧敬畏祂的人
必要施恩憐憫他

不知為何我對於雅各總是有點羨慕，畢竟在他危難時 神總是與他同在，讓他很堅信的走該走的路，反而是拉班在許多事上面被 神阻隢，無法傷害到雅各。
然而回到故事裡，他們的關係是岳父與女婿，也是老闆與夥計，做女婿的帶著女兒和孫子不告而別，當夥計的拿走了老闆的大半財產捲款逃跑，怎麼看都有不對的地方，但是雅各卻要拉班回頭想想自己的所作所為，由耶和華 神做見證，讓祂來判定誰對誰錯。
我們常說︰『清官難斷家務事。』有時候我們看到別人家庭出了問題，但是我們也不應該自行來論斷，或許陪同他們向 主禱告，請 主賜恩典在這些事情上，讓聖靈來做工，讓我們看見 主的美意。

由此可見,拉班對待雅各純粹是利益取向.
"..但我父親的神向來與我同在。..你們的父親欺哄我，十次改了我的工價；然而神不容他害我。..夜間，神到亞蘭人拉班那裡，在夢中對他說：你要小心，不可與雅各說好說歹。"31:5-7&24

There were many good news in the message. consolation (:1), comfort and end of judgment (:2),the promise of the arrival of Yahweh's glory (:3-5), the eternal validity of Lord's Words (:8), the tender loving care of our all mighty shepherd (:11), the reward to those who learn to wait upon the Lord (:31).
It was very interesting that in verse 31, those who waited upon the Lord would renew their strength, then they would soar high, run fast, and at last walk... It seemed to me that our lives were a cycle of soaring, then running, then walking, then sometimes crawling, ... then we might just stop there, without any energy to inch forward.. then we learned the lesson of waiting upon the Lord to renew our strength, then to soar one more time...

Job was in his deep struggle, both against his three good willed, yet not convincing friends, as well as his personal understanding of the nature of God. This struggle was very painful and draining... Yet as long as Job did't give up the struggle, then his faith in Yahweh was still alive and well, though painful....

Jephthah seemed to be a tragedy hero in the Bible. He was illegal child of his father with a prostitude. He was expelled by his half brothers to be a homeless fugutives. Then at the crisis of the Israelite, he responded to the summon to take risk in fighting against their enemies. He seemed not having been taught about how to swear to the Lord. Thus he made a very rash and harsh vow to Yahweh before going to the war. Then the greatest tragedy of his life befell upon him. After that tragedy, he even had to face the challenge of the tribe of Ephraimites with violent fighting.
The Bible was also silent on the spiritual lessons for us to learn from this incidence. Was this just descriptional historical story, or what was the spiritual lessons for us to learn? When Abraham responded to Yahweh's challenge to offer up his only son Isaac, the angel from the Lord intervened at the last minute to spare Isaac from being burned up as human sacrifice. But for Jephthah, the Bible was silent. There were all kinds of speculations upon the actual fate of his daughter. Some scholars would speculate that Jephthah's daughter just keep her virginity all her life without being married. Some would say that she was actually burned up as a holocost burnt offering after spending two months to cry for her untimely and premature death...

Dear all, Peng An,
This was a very interesting short parable pair. For me, Jesus used two different but related parables to express the incompatibility between the old tranditional system and the new innovation invention. The old system losted its flexibility and adaptability, while the new invention was full of vigor and energy. In the first parable, the contracting power of the new cloth would pull and tear the old clothes and aggravate the hole of the old system, but the new cloth would be still intact. In the second parable, the fermenting power of the new wine would burst open the old wineskin. But this time both the old wineskin and the new wine would suffer damage and loss at the bursting...
What Jesus advised was to store the new wine into the new wine skin, so as to preserve both. It seemed to be more revolutinary than renewal to me.
Personally, I got some other personal thoughts on these two parables. If you could dip the new cloth into the water to shrink it before mending it onto the hole of the old clothes, then it might help mending the old clothes without causing more damage. If you dip the old wineskin into water to make it more pliable and soft, then when you pour the new wine into that dipped old wineskin, the old wineskin might be able to hold up the new wine without bursting apart. Just some personal thoughts to share with you.....
