草戊尚土 牧師，平安：
雅各取名毗努伊勒的意思是︰『我面對面見了 神，我的性命仍得保全。』
這裡面對面的相會，並不像慈父擁抱浪子那麼感人，反而是辦了一場通宵的摔跤比賽，摔到分不清勝負才得到祝福。
有時我也會想 神的愛究竟會用什麼樣的方式？
當然我希望是充滿慈愛與恩惠，回應禱告並蒙受恩典，將許多憂慮卸下，也得著平安與喜樂。
然而這可能不是 神表現祂大愛的方式，祂的愛可能像給雅各那樣摔到腿都瘸了，也可能像給約伯那樣身染惡疾、家破人亡，但是這樣的愛卻仍得著祝福，我想或許 神用祂的方式並不是我們所能想的方式吧。
但願主仍給我憐憫，明白我所知的不足，讓我在不如意時也能看見您要我學習的地方。

Very interesting sharing and discussions. The servant of Yahweh was referring to the people of the Israelite in the Old Testament. [Ref. Isaiah 41:8; 44:1] But Jesus Christ took this as referring to himself when he started his public ministry. [Mt. 12:18-20]. So there would often two possible realizations or interpretations for each old testament prophecies.

Very interesting sharing and discussions. The servant of Yahweh was referring to the people of the Israelite in the Old Testament. [Ref. Isaiah 41:8; 44:1] But Jesus Christ took this as referring to himself when he started his public ministry. [Mt. 12:18-20]. So there would often two possible realizations or interpretations for each old testament prophecies.

Dear Kathleen, Peng An,
Thank you very much for sharing your understanding of the Bible and your experience of your life. I was not sure that Job was searching for God's answer in humility. He might be still in the angry protesting stage of his suffering.
Dear JBC, Peng An,
I would agree with you that Job was chosen by God to experience such traumatic experience because of his integrity and maturity. Yet throughout the whole chapters of Job, we could still sense Job's painful strugglings an anguish.

Yeah, Job's emotion was more of irritability and anger. He was still try to argue against the false accusations from his three goodwilled friends.

Yeah, Job tried very hard to search for his possible moral failures as the possible cause of his misfortune. So in a sense, he still fell into the trap of his three friends that all misfortunes must be resulted from our own personal moral failures...
