Priest shall be holy to God, so they had to be aware that whether their acts and words profaned Him or not. In general, they should stay in the sanctuary, performing all the rituals earnestly and seriously.
None of them shall defile the Lord for the dead among His people except for his nearest kin. Nor could they let the hair of his head hang loose, etc. In all, they shall keep in mind the LORD is the one who sanctifies them.
