In 51:7, Babylon was described as a gold cup in YHWH's hand, whereby the nation was made drunk and foolish. Getting drunk from the wine is a metaphor for receiving God's judgment. The gold cup as well as the one held by the woman dressed in purple and scarlet, glittering with gold, precious stone and pearls (Re 17:4), characterize arrogance and perversion.
Babylon is abundant in treasures, yet neither her waters nor her wealth shall secure her. Destruction comes when they did not think of it. Wherever we are, we are to remember the Lord our God; and in the times of the greatest fears and hopes, it is most needful to remember the Lord.

草戊尚土 牧師和各位俱樂部的兄姐，平安：
不大容易從經文裡看出葡萄樹、籬笆、野豬是代表什麼？只好又請教谷哥了。他說：葡萄樹應該是代表以色列國，但是也預表著耶穌基督作了真葡萄樹，讓我們因信，借著聖靈的感動和重生，而成為這樹上的枝子。籬笆是神賜給他子民的避難所，也預表著聖靈會住在我們心中成為我們的保惠師。野豬應該代表著仇敵，或許也象徵這屬血氣的世界。
這樣看來感覺像是主拯救了我們，讓聖靈能與我們同在，但是在世界的爭戰中撒旦仍可能突破聖靈的籬笆，踐踏了好不容易結出的果實，這裡真的要向祈求主憐憫我們，求主使我們回轉，使你的臉發光，讓我們能再次得救。

The vine (Ps 80: 8-11) is probably used as an emblem of Israel. Israel was brought out of Egypt and planted in Canaan. Her shadow covered the mountains and her branches unto the river, which describes the boundaries of the land of Promise.
The boar out of the wood (13) is used to illustrate the ravaging power of an oppressor of Israel, but God was well able to protect His own against all destructive forces (14-19).
Thus, though the walls were broken down and the grapes were picked (12), God would finally take the lead. That's why He implored to His rescue from calamities.

有時我總覺得撒旦的力量很大，牠有能力讓一個老先知背離神，甚至陷害年輕的先知受難。我想一個信仰能否堅定實在需要主的力量，求主不叫我們遇見試探，救我們脫離兇惡，當我們看不清楚的時候，不是向這世界來找到答案，而是定睛在主的言語上，得著路上的光，走出陷入黑暗的危險。

The man of God was commanded, "You must not eat bread or drink water or return by the way you came" (Ki1 13:9), but he followed an old prophet's words and disobeyed God eventually.
The man of God should have listened to God's words instead of the rumor from others. According to Bible, we ought not to believe anyone who claims that he/she is God. Any message contradictory to Bible should be disregarded. That's definitely not from God.

這位神人－「無名的傳道者」，是個很勇敢的人，敢在新王耶羅波安正要獻祭的時候大叫，應該是抱著必死的決心了吧。他也是個不貪心的人，耶羅波安要宴請他、給他賞賜，神人都拒絕了－因為上帝說不行。
神人被獅子咬死後，那伯特利老先知的懊悔，以及要求日後與神人合葬，由此看來，老先知並不是出於惡意的欺哄，他是真的想接待這位神人。
老先知的熱誠、神人對上帝僕人的信任，二者都不是壞事，但結果卻是令人唏噓，我想問題癥結在：「違背耶和華的話，不遵守耶和華─你神的命令」。
求神幫助我，能時時、事事都來求問祂；也求神幫助我，能將自己的善意先擺在祂面前－檢視是否真的對人有益。阿們！

Jesus appeared to Mary so that she could convey the message of His resurrection to His disciples. When Mary saw Jesus, she was full of joy and couldn't wait to share this good piece of news with others.
Then Jesus appeared to His disciples. He came and stood among them, saying, "Peace be with you!" twice and sending them the Holy Spirit. He told His disciples their mission in the world: "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven" (Mt 16:19).
The third time He appeared to Thomas, showing His love for those who did not believe Him. Though He said, "…blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed" (Joh 20:29), He would keep strengthening the confidence in those unbelievers until they find the answer.
Jesus' resurrection is the core of Christianity. Therefore, appearing three times was the hard evidence that He was the living Savior and the Governor of the eternal kingdom.

不是很清楚這裡獻祭儀式的不同所代表的意義，有時我也會不明白為什麼每一種宗教都有很多儀式，要在什麼時候做用哪種動物來祭祀，要用哪些器具來作哪些動作，彷彿每個細節都像是我們在工廠作業的標準程序(SOP)，不能有任何一個地方出錯(MO, miss operation)，不然整個產品就得報廢。
或許這裡所獻的贖罪祭，也是因為產品不同所以程序上不會一樣，在上帝的眼裡祭司可能屬於高階製程的產品，可容許的誤差是很小的，百姓是屬於一般製程的產品，可以接受的誤差較大。但是，如果真的發生異常，可以把產品補救回來嗎？一般而言，有些製程是允許重製 rework，但是這裡要決定報廢或是重製的條件是必須由客戶來制定的。

The difference might not lie in how the offering went on but in what was offered. The animals to be sacrificed varied to the position or status of the sinner.
The priest offered a bullock. The whole congregation offered a bullock. The leader or ruler offered a male goat. A member of the community offered a female goat. The offering required by God from the priest and the whole congregation were equal, for in God's eyes the sin committed by the priest was as large as that committed by the whole congregation.
If a man serving in an official organization sins, he can lead the whole congregation astray. High position, like an anointed priest, means high responsibility.

真是抱歉，我看不出祭司與百姓所獻的贖罪祭之差異，只看到：越是教導人的，一旦犯罪所波及的範圍就越大，不只是自己要付代價還會「使百姓陷在罪裡」。
另有一點，我覺得很有趣，神藉著摩西曉諭利未記時，亞倫應該還活著，但是「亞倫子孫作祭司的」一直被重複提到，摩西會因此後悔當初放棄那職分嗎？

O our Lord, thank You for breaking and building us . In Christ we are a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come (2Co 5:17).

Comparing to Pastor's present and old pictures , I hardly tell from the old pictures which kindergartener is the one. Pastor even could not recognize who the bride was! How unreliable our eyes are!

According to my recent experience, I gradually realized that I could not totally rely on what my eyes saw. When I observed rainbows in the sky, sometimes I could not tell if there was rainbow because it was very faint. Nevertheless, others might infer its existance. This saying "Seeing is believing" is thus questionable.This is especially true when related to faith, wonders or signs given from Heaven (Heb 11:1). when we see God's signs with the eyes of our heart (Eph 1:18), hopefully we might "see" more clearly the vision that God intends to reveal to us.

不是很明白這裡神的計畫，有點像兩個做錯事的兄弟，弟弟不聽話愛玩，哥哥也不乖愛欺負人，後來哥哥覺得弟弟不對打了弟弟，可是又向別人誇耀自己，弟弟反省後向父親懺悔，哥哥卻不認為自己有錯，於是父親便心疼弟弟而責打哥哥。
或許上帝在這裡的公義是挽回性的公義，想藉由一些教訓讓人悔改並走向正途，不過卻又有著報應性的公義，讓那些欺負人的人還是得接受審判，但是或許這樣做也可能是一種挽回性公義的開始。

If we turn away from all the sins and keep the Lord's decrees, we will surely live. The forgiveness of sins is all in accordance with the riches of His grace. Assyria and Babylon chose to go their own way and were deserted eventually.

關於神的廢棄與揀選，這也是我一直不明白的地方。
查了經文，在新約的哥林多前書 第一章二十六節，保羅告訴我們：『弟兄們哪，可見你們蒙召的，按著肉體有智慧的不多，有能力的不多，有尊貴的也不多。 神卻揀選了世上愚拙的，叫有智慧的羞愧；又揀選了世上軟弱的，叫那強壯的羞愧。 神也揀選了世上卑賤的，被人厭惡的，以及那無有的，為要廢掉那有的。使一切有血氣的，在神面前一個也不能自誇。 』

"以法蓮的子孫帶著兵器，拿著弓，臨陣之日轉身退後。他們不遵守神的約，不肯照他的律法行；又忘記他所行的和他顯給他們奇妙的作為。"78:9-11
約瑟的後世子孫"不遵守神的約"導致被棄，相信只要有"敬畏神"的後裔再起，神的恩典必再降臨。

Before Samuel rose and anointed David, David was a shepherd, tending the sheep (Sa 16: 10-11). In choosing a king, the Lord does not consider his appearance or his height, but looks at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart (Sa 16:7).
The Lord led David from tending sheep to taking care of the Israelites. So we should not underestimate the situation we are in and don't want to take responsibility. That is perhaps the trial the Lord would like us to undergo.

羅波安可能沒有遺傳到他父親的智慧，但是卻認為自己有這樣的智慧，所以不聽老一輩的建言，卻聽從玩伴的餿主意，所以搞到以色列的分裂。耶羅波安應該是很有才幹的宰相，但是畢竟不是大衛家的後裔，而且耶路撒冷還在羅波安手中，所以學亞倫造金牛犢，要求百姓膜拜，並違反制度立非利未人為祭司，試圖打破以色列人的宗教信仰來鞏固自己的地位。
我想，人可能還是得學習謙虛，尊重老人的智慧，更要敬畏耶和華神，一旦驕傲到人定勝天，或許又是一個災難的開始。

Jeroboam made two golden calves, afraid that his people would go up to offer sacrifices at the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem and likely revert to the house of David.
These two kings only sought their own interests regardless of the welfare of their people. They neither fulfilled the words the prophets had spoken to them nor cherished the blessings from God. This is indeed a good lesson of leadership.

如果我是彼拉多，我想我可能會對猶太人為何如此憎恨耶穌而感到不解，也可能對耶穌被釘十字架而感到一絲難過吧。
我是羅馬派來的總督，我得向該撒負責，這裡的百姓自己決定要把耶穌釘十字架，這是他們的決定，我雖然覺得耶穌罪不該死，也想放了他，但是我放了他會引發暴動，甚至會讓該撒認為我不忠，況且他自稱自己為神的兒子，那些相信神的人卻說他們的律法是要這人受死，神的兒子難道沒有權柄來免自己受死嗎？難道我可以相信他是神的兒子嗎？真理是什麼呢？他們自己去釘耶穌吧。
我想，要一個不認識耶穌的人去相信主可能不是那麼容易，但是要讓曾經認識耶穌的人來離開主卻反而比較可能吧。

我想，上帝有可能想藉由獻祭來要我們省思自己的生活，是否所作所為都是蒙神喜悅的，這裡的燔祭或許也提醒我們在生命的每一刻裡，都要有十分認真的態度，把每件事都做到最好，完美無暇，再把馨香的結果獻給上帝。素祭有可能是要我們學習如何與人相處，如何在不同信仰、不同立場、不同種族的人中當作調和的鹽，讓別人也能感受到屬靈的味道。

The burnt offering is to pay the cost for people's common sins. The offering without defect represents purity of God. "He is to lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it will be accepted on his behalf to make atonement for him" (Le 1:4). The sin was symbolically purged.
Besides, "every grain offering you bring to the Lord must be made without yeast…"(Le 2:11). Yeast is a kind of fungus, which is likely to make the dough ready to bake. That is just like the situation where small sin grows unknowingly. The Lord would like the Israelites to lead a pure life.

本來也不是很清楚這裡提到的審判和恩典，不過在聽完今天牧師在禮拜的證道，忽然有個想法，如果世界各國的人民都是上帝創造的兒女，那就像牧師所說在一個家庭裡如果有一個小孩成績不好，那個當媽媽的一定會很著急。所以我想那個媽媽應該會試著教導那個成績差的小孩，至於用的方法可能會因人而異，但是總是希望他的成績能變好吧。

This is what the Lord says: "If those who do not deserve to drink the cup must drink it, why should you go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, but must drink it" (Jer 49:12).
What striking words!
I can feel God's discipline in my daily life. No discipline seems pleasant, and He does this for my own good. Whenever I encounter unfair or unjust deeds, I think of Him so that I can learn how to get rid of negative emotions such as hatred or complaints.
God makes me small and brings me down from the nest I build as high as the eagle's (Jer 15-16). I really appreciate His correction.

看完所羅門的故事，再看亞薩的詩，深感人的信與不信，遵命不遵命，真的不是人可以掌控、方法可以掌控。
除了為孩子禱告外，我真的不知道，有什麼方法可以保證孩子的信仰。每當有孩子提到他有困難時會向上帝爸爸禱告，或是看到我們很辛苦時，說著『媽媽，我會為妳禱告！』，有時也說他為同學禱告……。聽了心裡總是感謝神的保守，讓這些教導存在他心裡。但也不免擔心，會一直都這樣嗎？將來面對世界文化的衝擊時，他的信仰還可以存留嗎？想到這裡，還是回到原點，禱告、禱告、再禱告！

Only those who stand firm to the end will be saved. Our marriage, career or church service should be governed by God to the end of our day.

如果把所羅門王的一生拍成電影，應該也可以像魔戒那樣來個三部曲，首部曲是王位爭奪，從亞多尼雅自立為王到所羅門剷除異己坐上王位，二部曲是威震天下，從聖殿的興建到示巴女王的朝貢，最終曲是走向衰敗，從寵愛眾多異族的嬪妃到離棄耶和華而留下亡國的伏筆。
我想，上帝一開始是喜悅所羅門的，所以賜給他智慧與財富，但是再怎麼聰明的人終究還是人，當擁有權力與財富時，多少會產生驕傲與自大，當年老孤單時，美色的誘惑也會把持不住自己的信仰，人要能戰勝世界實在不是一件容易的事，聰明的所羅門王也很難抗拒世界，但願主憐憫我，幫助我能感受與您同在的喜樂，而不是貪圖世上短暫的快樂。

我必須先承認我比彼得還軟弱，和主的關係也沒有像彼得那麼親密，但是如果要我設身處地來想彼得那晚的經歷，我會覺得是件無法解釋的事情；就像是一對論及婚嫁的男女朋友，在公園約會時被小流氓叫囂，男生一開始挺身而出來保護女生，但是當女生被小流氓挾持時，那個男生卻又膽怯的逃跑。當然這樣的比喻很不恰當，只是我很相信彼得當時對主耶穌的愛應該超過男女朋友的愛，那為何會三次不認主呢？這裡有可能是有撒旦的介入，或是上帝的安排，但是這對彼得來說都是他認為不可能發生的事，他在雞鳴的當下，應該會十分懊惱的問自己：『為什麼？為什麼我會變成這樣？為什麼？』或許，這夜的經歷也是要造就他將來的成就吧。
親愛的主，請您幫助我，讓我在這世界裡能有力量堅持您的信仰，不會因為軟弱而退縮，也請您的聖靈與我同在，保守我的心思意念，不讓撒旦或是邪靈來入侵，不要做出讓自己也後悔不已的事情。

Jesus prayed for all His disciples. He hoped for their being one as Jesus and God (Joh 17:11), their staying away from the evil (17:15), and their sanctification (17:17). Yet Peter wasn't confident and courageous enough when he experienced the critical moments before Jesus' trials.
That's the difference between the human and the Holy. Jesus claimed without fear, "I am Jesus of Nazareth," when the officials from the chief priests and Pharisees was about to arrest him. In contrast, under certain pressure, we might be like Peter, who didn't recognize Jesus as our Lord. That's why we ought to turn to the Lord closely.

如果我是彼得...
看到"士兵、燈籠、火把、兵器"就已經昏倒，不會有力氣拿刀試圖砍殺大祭司的僕人；當耶穌被抓拿、綑綁，解往受審，我已經緊張害怕到腿軟，完全跟不上千夫長等人的腳步，到不了大祭司的院子，因此不會有"否認主"的記錄；如果被認出來，我也一定結巴地說不出話來。
讀完這一段，想著「如果我是彼得」，感覺彼得好愛主耶穌，以致他把自己暴露在危險當中，這個危險不只是抓拿耶穌的人，還有「暴露自己弱點」的危險，沒有另一個門徒留下"三次不認主"的汙名，只有勇敢跟隨在被抓拿的耶穌身後的彼得。
只有彼得在耶穌被折磨得不成人形之前，得到主的回眸一撇（我認為主對彼得是鼓勵多於責備）；只有彼得知道主所說：「你回頭以後，要堅固你的弟兄」－就是堅固像我一樣腿軟、跟不上、躲起來的人。
謝謝主揀選彼得成為我們的榜樣，阿們！

謝謝 JBC 姐的分享，在這裡我想到的問題是：照著耶和華的吩咐來做和照自己心意來做，哪一個會比較快樂？
其實，有時候我覺得是照自己意思做，剛開始會比較快樂，就像是我的女兒也和 JBC 姐的兒子一樣，很喜歡搶著自己來拆剛買來的餅乾盒，搶到盒子時很快樂，但是拆開後把餅乾散落到地上便不是很快樂了。
最近看了蔡牧師的回應，覺得基督徒也是人，在上帝的旨意、撒旦的誘惑和自我的意識中遊走，稍有偏差便無法得到平安與喜樂。
親愛的主，請您憐憫我，不要陷入撒旦的誘惑中，也不要任意我恣意而行，請讓我有足夠的智慧能分辨您的旨意，讓我順服您，也讓我能樂在其中。

Moses set up the Tabernacle just as the Lord commanded him. The importance of obedience can be seen in the following verses:
"…you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey,…." (De 6:3).
"…then the Lord your God will keep his covenant of love with you,…" (De 7:12).
"…so that you may prosper in everything you do" (De 29:9).
"…everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock" (Mt 7:24).
"…if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death" (Joh 8:51).
Yet we may get stuck in the world and its desires, so the lesson of obedience is indeed worth learning.

我們平日對待心所愛的人時，有好多的「我以為」，我以為你喜歡這個、我以為你要去那裡...我以為你喜歡我這樣對你。
神給了以色列人極大的恩典－鉅細靡遺地告訴他們「神要他們如何建造會幕」，這些工匠必須放下自己的審美觀、自己的設計，以神的藍圖、盡人所能，蓋好神所要（合神心意）的會幕。
求神幫助我，不管是自己熟悉或不熟悉的事物，都能在「開工前」耐心地等候神的指示，在「施工中」尋求神一步一步的引導與保護，在「完工時」歸榮耀給神、獻給神使用。阿們！
有時教兒子做一些事時，他會把我的手撥開、照他的意思做，這時我會等...等他搞砸，他不用開口，只要一個眼神，我就會教他。我想，我也常常把神的手撥開、搞砸，最終...神還是出手救我。
想，如果一開始就聽從神的指示不就好了？然而，常在我裡頭發動的罪性，讓我不見得能「全程」遵行主旨意，所以...有時神忍耐、允許我搞砸事情，是為了讓我更謙卑吧！（希望這不致成為我成事不足的藉口 ）

我們平日對待心所愛的人時，有好多的「我以為」，我以為你喜歡這個、我以為你要去那裡...我以為你喜歡我這樣對你。
神給了以色列人極大的恩典－鉅細靡遺地告訴他們「神要他們如何建造會幕」，這些工匠必須放下自己的審美觀、自己的設計，以神的藍圖、盡人所能，蓋好神所要（和神心意）的會幕。
求神幫助我，不管是自己熟悉或不熟悉的事物，都能在「開工前」耐心地等候神的指示，在「施工中」尋求神一步一步的引導與保護，在「完工時」歸榮耀給神、獻給神使用。阿們！
有時教兒子做一些事時，他會把我的手撥開、照他的意思做，這時我會等...等他搞砸，他不用開口，只要一個眼神，我就會教他。我想，我也常常把神的手撥開、搞砸，最終...神還是出手救我。

Solomon asked for wisdom, with the purpose of serving others. But even this wisdom could not guarantee that he would do every thing right.
I would agree with YuTz's comment that we should seek to have intimate relationshi with our Lord... since he was the source of all wisdom,.... and much, much more
When you got the God of blessing, you got every blessings, and much, much more... You got God himself..

Here was a very interesting story about our eyes. We seemed to be endowed with two sets of eyes. One set was physical and external, another set was spiritual and internal. It seemed that these two sets of eyes sometimes would have reverse relationship, which meant those with physical eyesight would lost their spiritual eyesight, but those without physicial eyesight might gain their spiritual eyesight.

草戊尚土 牧師和各位俱樂部的兄姐，平安：
我想大部分的人對於犯法的人要去坐牢可能都不會有任何意見，但是對於從牢裡出來的人要有機會讀書或是工作，可能不見得每個人都會同意，有些人甚至會覺得那些人根本就不應該放出來，這些人根本就是社會的負擔。
在今天的經文，很有意思的是上帝的話只說到：『到末後，我還要使被擄的摩押人歸回。摩押受審判的話到此為止。』
到此為止？是要我們能盡棄前嫌來寬恕那些犯罪的人嗎？還是上帝的審判到此，接下來要接受的是人的審判。有時候，我覺得人的審判反倒比上帝的審判還來的可怕。
但願，台灣的媒體少一些血腥的審判，多一些寬容的關懷。

God would allow exile and return, wounding and healing to happen to his people.
For me, the most important blessing was that God would still be their God and God would still treat them as His people. This was the best blessing from God toward us...

The wording used here sometimes could cause us to felt puzzled. Jesus called his mother, woman. This was not the term we would use to call our mother in our culture.
We could not enter the mind of Mary to understand her motivation in telling Jesus about the embarrassed situation of the wedding celebration.
