Dear all, Peng An,
For me, the three consecutive psalms looked like a trilogy of historical psalms. The first one traced the past redemption Israel experienced in the historical memory of exodus. The second one reflected upon their history of injustice against the poor and the marginalized people. The third one was crying out to Yahweh after their being exiled and deported to Assyria and Babylon.

Here Moses enlisted the different animals which should be offered when different people committed the sin.
It seemed to me God would treat the priest as most important or serious as representing the whole group of people. Then the leaders, then the ordinary people. Thus I would agree with your observations, that our position or role would have different impact or influence on the people. Ref. James 3:1.

Reading your sharing helps me to discover that I miscalculated the number of appearance Jesus made in this section of the bible.
Actually Jesus appeared four times. The first time He appeared to Mary Magdalene, who loved Jesus the most and lingered at the tomb the longest. Then Jesus sent Mary to tell His disciples about the good news of His resurrection. Then Jesus appeared to the fearful disciples to strenghten their faith of His resurrection. Then Jesus sent His disciples to spread the gospel. The third time Jesus appeared especially for the absent and doubtful Thomas, to reconfirm his faith on Jesus' resurrection. The fourth time, Jesus appeared to desciples who fished all night to no avail. But the main purpose was to revive Peter's faith and conviction so that Jesus could entrust him with the leadership to start the church after Jesus' ascension.

在這裡我覺得有點像是我們在工廠裡操作機台，這些機台如果不依照操作規範（OI, Operation Instruction）來操作，那可能不只是產品會報廢，嚴重的時候甚至會造成人員傷亡，這時如果不及時做正確的處置，搞不好弄到機台爆炸，那整個工廠都會被波及。
我想或許亞倫喪失兩個兒子應該會感到哀慟，但是他也明白如果上帝任憑他們而為，可能更感到更大的不安吧。

I had difficulty understanding the true motivation of the old prophet. Was he deceived by Satan? Was he trying to deceive the young prophet?
Sometimes God would reveal His Will to us through his servants. But sometimes we would be led astray by them. This was a tough lesson for all of us to learn, how to discern between the two.

Basically I would agree with your sharing and comment. I would agree with Mou's referring to Jesus Christ as the true vine.
About JBC's comment on the usage of boar as metaphor to describe the Gentiles, Jesus seemed to also use simular metaphor. ( Ref. Mt. 7:6)

Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu offered unauthorized fire before the Lord, contrary to His command. So they were consumed by the fire came out from the presence of the Lord and died.

It seemed to me that both burnt offering and grain offereing were sweet savor offering to be burnt on the altar.
The burnt offering was from animal without blemish, and would be totally burned after being skinned. The grain offering would be only a small part burned, all leftovers would be consumed by the priest.
There would be nothing to be added upon the animal burnt offering. But the grain offering would need to have oil, frankincense and salt added on before burning. Yeast and honey were not allowed to be mixed with the grain offering.
So I thought there might be some identical theological significance of both the animal burnt offering and the grain offering, as both were sweet savor offering to be burnt on the alter, to be offered to God. 完全無瑕疵 一切全奉獻
As for the kinds of animal that could be used for burnt offering, we saw that God would allow different kinds of animals, from cow to pigeon, according to the worshipper's financial ability.
As for grain offering, God only demand a small part of it being burned as a token or symbol, to be offered to God. All the rest would be consumed by the priest. We saw God's treating his servants with loving tender care...

God's sovereignty was a mysterious topic. According to Paul's theology, recorded in Rom.9:11, God's sovereignty was before human morality.
One possible theological explanation was God's omniscience. (全知) Another possible theological explanation was God's omnipotence.(全能)

Yeah, these were very complicated interactions between the countries and between God and these countries. But our God seemed to have a very clear mind to know how to handle such complicated interactions.
All human relationships seemed to be all like this kind of interactions. The cause and effect were often intermingled to such a degree that sometimes it would be very hard for us to discern their relationship.

Yeah, JBC was fast to refer to the pastors of HoPing. I had to confess that I could not even bear the heat of the black overcoat during summer time, that I had to raise the issue of pastor dressing during preaching and to ask the elder board to allow the pastor the option to wear only thin and short and light colored upper dressing... but I dared not to even mention whether it was permissible to wear short pant, as it would be even cooler without the long pant legs....
I liked Mou for his easily linking the bible content to his personal life experience. This was very good practice as to make our daily devotion more relevant to our own personal lives.
Thanks to YiTing for your detailed enlisting of the seven pieces of the high priest dressings. It definitely was very helpful to read such reviews...

Apostle John used large proportion of his gospel to record the last week of our Lord Jesus, especially the last night, before he was arrested and crucified. Reading those last words of our Lord could help us to understand what was the most important concern of our Lord, which was the testimony of His disciples. Because the salvation of the whole world would be hung on their testimonies. Praise be to our Lord, though they were weak and frail, yet our Lord granted them enough grace to testify for the Lord, to spread the gospel to the end of the world, both geographically and chronologically...

God's unconditional love didn't mean that we could abuse such love to engage in whatever we would like to enjoy without having to bear the consequence of those behaviors.

I liked Mr. Mou's reflection and application.
It was very interesting that the Prophet Jeremiah was inspired to prophesize about Moab. It seemed to me that our God would have sovereignty over the whole world, no matter whether the country would worhsip God or not. And God seemed to be sovereign to chose the person He would like to use to inspire to warn Moab.
I wondered whether and how Moab people responded to the prophecy made by Israel prophet Jeremiah, especially Israel was a country with impending destruction by the Lord....

In my own theology, the tree of good and evil was very important, as it represented God's special grace toward humanity by granting humanity the privilege of the freedom of choice.
The true freedom of choice would allow human to make wrong choice and to suffer the consequence. But God seemed to love human so much that He decided to send his only begotten son Jesus to bear the consequence, so as to give humanity a second chance of the freedom of choice. This second privilage was about whether to receive Jesus Christ as our Savior and the Lord of our lives.
Usually people would be easier to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior who had died for their sins on the cross. But people would be tougher to receive Jesus Christ as the Lord of their daily lives...
This was not the negation of the freedom of choice, but the loving response of the redeemed believers to use their second chance of the freedom of choice to chose to obey Jesus Christ to the most details...

I liked JBC's sharing. Usually we would tend to criticize those who seemed to fail in the Bible, but JBC's perspective was very refreshing and reminding of us not to jump into our conclusion too fast. Try to look at the same story with many different possible perspectives. yeah, perspectives were very important. May our God grant us the ability to jump out of our prejudice, and be able to raise ourselves to higher vantage point of view, so that we could try to look at the same incidence with fresh and different perspectives.....

Whew!!! We could not read your posting due to the crash of your computer, not due to other more serious personal difficulties. Sweating, sweating.... BTW, computer brought lots of blessing to us, but we seemed to be hooked on computer and internet more and more... It looked like a cursing blessing....
King Solomon's life was recorded in the Bible unabridged and unbiased. Thus we had chance to learn from his life story. Solomon was the second child of David's unlawful wife Bathesba. Yet he received God's blessing in spite of his birthing order or status. He made a very good decision during his youth to ask God for wisdom, and not for money, power, or other privileges, and God granted his prayer. He build the temple for God, and was blessed by God on temple dedication. He enjoyed good and long life, enormous fame and huge richness... Yet, in his later days, he seemed to be influenced by his concubines, so that his faith in God was contaminated by syncretism... Let's we all pray that God would protect and guide us, all the way in our lives, till the last minute of our breath...

Dear All, Peng An,
Yeah, would we have a life story of God's grace to share with our offsprings? Recently, I started to record down the memory of my personal life from my childhood period. While recounting all the pains and troubles and failures in my life, it seemed to me to see a trail of God's mercy and guidance. I could only share my life experience with my offspring, and then prayed that God would touch their hearts through their own life experiences so that they would make their own decision to cling to God for all of their lives.

So it seemed that there were two kinds of offerings involved in tabernacle building. The first was a duty offering, which would be shared by all. The second was a voluntary offering, which would be a free will offering for those who were financially capable and also be willing.
In our church reconstruction project, we also tried to set up two kinds of offering. One was huge amount once for all offereing. The second was tiny amount but longterm offering. Personally I liked to encourage all to participate in the second kind of offering, which I would call it "an army of ants offering" 螞蟻雄兵奉獻法 While each one would just offer a tiny amount, like an ant could only carry that pity small amount, but every ant could contribute. And since all could afford it without seriously impacting our daily financial lives, thus we could all affordable to join this kind of offering for longterm, until the church had paid off all mortgages.

I remembered that Yuze told me that she could not come to join our Sunday service in the afternoon, because of her work. Let's pray for her situation and that God would guide her and her family to a church that worshipped in Sunday morning so that her family could continue to worship God during our church reconstruction period. Of course, we would love to welcome her family to come back and join us after we had finished the church reconstruction.
Jesus prayed and asked God to send the Holy Spirit to be with us always before his leaving us. The Holy Spirit would be known by us and would live within our hearts, so that we were not left to be alone. The Holy Spirit would teach us and remind us of all the words spoken by Jesus. When we had the words of Jesus in our hearts, then Jesus would come and live in our hearts, and we could bear abundant fruits in our lives and we would glorify our Lord. The Holy Spirit would testify for the Lord together with our testimony.

This prayer of Solomon on the occasion of dedicating the Temple was quite long and awesome. It started with a praise to God who was incomparable and a God of hesed. He claimed the promise of God to his father King David and asked God to fulfill His promise. He recognized that though the Temple looked very fascinating and huge, but still could not afford to be the abiding place for God. Then he focused the purpose and function of the temple to be a place where all could pray and confess and ask for God's forgiveness. The all would include himself, all people of Israel, and even all Gentiles. This would remind me of one incidence in Jesus' life when Jesus went into the temple to drive out all those who abused the temple into peronal profit making location to the effect of excluding the Gentiles from the right to pray to God at this temple. Now HoPing church was under the process of reconstruction. I must confess that HoPing church seemed not to be a church of prayer. So please pray to God to inspire all of us to help building HoPing church into a temple of prayer.

Psalm 75 starts with a praise to God for His wonderful actions. Then God seemed to respond to such praise with a confirmation of His predestined judgment time. Then the poet turned to warn those who was proud and evil, not to continue in their behavioral patterns. Because on final judgment day, the judgment would be like a cup of wine that all who was proud or evil would have to drink it up to the last drop. But the poet would like to praise the ?God of righteous judgment. God seemed to respond with a conclusion that He would cut off the horn of the evil one, but to raise the horn of the righteous. This psalm looked like an intimate dialogue or chat between the poet and God.

Here the prophet Nehemiah seemed to referred to a future war between Egypt and Babylonian. At first, Egypt seemed to be expanding up north, like the flooding of river Nile (46:2, 8). But she would be defeated and retreated back to the land of Egypt. She would be totally defeated, but there seemed to be still a faint light of hope for the future recovery (46:26)

Nevertheless, David captured the fortress of Zion because the Lord God Almighty was with him (2Sa 5:7,10). David trusted in the Lord and knew that the Lord was with him and fought for him. Trusting in the Lord, knowing the Lord is with us always, gives us strength to fight against our daily life enemies so that we can enter the gate of the promised city (Rev 21:12,25).

Jeremiah deeply believed that although the Lord brings grief, He will show compassion since His love is unfailing. Jeremiah felt a ray of hope in guilt and sorrow.
"No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful…"(Heb 12:11). Tell the Lord in our prayer that we will humble ourselves to receive punishment and that our confidence in His salvation will never be depleted. It is always worth it to wait quietly and patiently for Him.

Jeremiah deeply believed that although the Lord brings grief, He will show compassion since His love is unfailing. Jeremiah felt a ray of hope in guilt and sorrow.
"No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful…"(Heb 12:11). Tell the Lord in our prayer that we will humble ourselves to receive punishment and that our confidence in His salvation will never be depleted. It is always worth it to wait quietly and patiently for Him.

These days God really taught me a big lesson about eyesight vs faith. Often our eyes do not see clearly what God's will really is, especially when our eyes are weak. Our eyes are so limited that we do not see the unseen. Therefore, we ought to live by faith, not by sight.
Isaac's eyes are so weak (Ge 27:1) that he did not see in front of him is Jacob (the son in God's will (Ge 25:23; Mk 10:31) to receive God's blessing), not Esau (the son in Isaac's will to receive Isaac's blessing). 這幾天陪老婆去了一趟馬祖，那裡的沙灘真的很美，很乾淨，小螃蟹在沙灘上爬來爬去，看到我們走過去又趕忙躲到洞裡，等到我們離開一會兒，小螃蟹又突然都跑了出來，我們遠遠觀察他們，他們也不覺得有什麼不同，看他們飛奔似的跑來跑去，真不知道他們在忙些什麼。
今天讀的經文剛好在敘述上帝與大衛後裔的互動，我的感覺像是一個慈愛的父親用雙手高舉著他的小孩，告訴他不要為明天感到害怕，我會保護你，不會讓別人來傷害你，我會告訴你應該要做的事，你要照我的話來做，我的責罰是為了不讓你做錯而受傷，明白嗎？我會永遠愛你。
這讓我回想到我和父親的互動，還有我和我女兒的互動，我幾乎不曾向父親說過我愛你，但是卻常向我女兒說把拔愛你，或許我也像是那沙灘上的小螃蟹，整天洞裡洞外忙來忙去，卻忘了有人一直在關心我，也忘了去感謝他。

The Lord declared that David's house and his kingdom would endure forever before Him; his throne would be established forever. The foundation of His throne is righteousness and justice. Love and faithfulness are also what He values.

"Then the fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench" (1Ki 18:38). When we are doing what the Lord commands us to do, He will definitely give His helping hand instead of being lukewarm.
Maybe He will not work in the way as He helped the prophet Elijah, but He will give us wisdom, courage, and perseverance to fulfill the mission. Be an earnest man of praying. The Lord is listening.

以利亞真有膽量，當亞哈王說：「使以色列遭災的就是你嗎？」以利亞回答：「使以色列遭災的不是我，乃是你和你父家；因為你們離棄耶和華的誡命，去隨從巴力。」
以利亞向侍奉巴力的先知下戰帖，1:450，在人來看勝算極低，但比賽的是神不是人，以利亞相信他所信的神「必勝」。以利亞前來對眾民說：「你們心持兩意要到幾時呢？若耶和華是神，就當順從耶和華；若巴力是神，就當順從巴力。」（21節）
比賽中間，以利亞還嘲笑對方，還真不是位嚴肅的先知。當以利亞禱告、獻祭時，「耶和華降下火來，燒盡燔祭、木柴、石頭、塵土，又燒乾溝裡的水。眾民看見了，就俯伏在地，說：耶和華是神！耶和華是神！」（38-39節）
當二造先知比賽的時候，以利亞的禱告即刻獲得回應，但當以利亞自己埋頭禱告求雨的時候，卻是差僕人去看了七次，才看到雲的影兒，這裡我們有一些屬靈功課可以學習。

The apostles were persecuted again (Ac 5:17) because the high priest and all his associates were filled with jealousy. They had to learn to live at peace with everyone (Ro 12:18) though the world hates them (Joh 15:18). But the Lord says, "Blessed are you when men hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man"(Lu 6:22).
On the other hand, since the number of disciples was increasing, they had to choose seven men who were known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom to take charge of the daily distribution of food. In the church, we are the body of Christ, and each one of us is a part of it. "…God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, …, also those having gifts of healing, ..., those with gifts of administration, and …"(1Co 12:28). To work for the Lord, cooperation and team spirit count.

好像要先有一個公開的儀式（招聚會眾到會幕門口）。好像要用水潔淨（用水洗了他們）。好像所有的穿著都有一定的規定（穿上內袍，束上腰帶，穿上外袍，又加上以弗得，用其上巧工織的帶子把以弗得繫在他身上，又給他戴上胸牌，把烏陵和土明放在胸牌內，把冠冕戴在他頭上，在冠冕的前面釘上金牌）。好像要讓所有與儀式有關的器皿聖潔（摩西用膏油抹帳幕和其中所有的，使他成聖；又用膏油在壇上彈了七次，又抹了壇和壇的一切器皿，並洗濯盆和盆座，使他成聖；又把膏油倒在亞倫的頭上膏他，使他成聖）。好像要讓祭司贖罪聖潔（摩西把些血抹在亞倫的右耳垂上和右手的大拇指上，並右腳的大拇指上，又帶了亞倫的兒子來，把些血抹在他們的右耳垂上和右手的大拇指上，並右腳的大拇指上，又把血灑在壇的周圍）。牧師講到時有說比較深刻的意義，每一個步驟的理由（與神相會那本書有，還有圖片），可是……還是忘記了！

草戊尚土 牧師和各位俱樂部的兄姐，平安：
請教了谷哥，他說大致依序可分四項預備：洗身，穿衣，受膏和抹血。對應的預表是悔改潔淨，屬靈操練，聖靈澆灌和赦免重生。
其實有時我還是覺得不明白神為何要揀選我來作祂的子民，因為要能做到『分別為聖』對我來說真是有點困難，每天上班看到同事玩股票大賺一筆，和我同期進來的同事升官做我的主管，以前公司的同事領到的分紅是我一年的薪水，我就無法明白自己能否脫離這世界，減少一些物質慾望，能勇敢的走向『成聖』的道路。對於亞倫和他的兒子們，我不知道他們被揀選為祭司時是否已經準備好了，但是我想他們應該和神的關係十分親密，也十分明白神給他們的使命，但願主能憐憫我，在我被世界拉回去時，能讓我更清楚看到您的真理與道路。

草戊尚土 牧師和各位俱樂部的兄姐，平安：
請教了谷哥，他說大致依序可分四項預備：洗身，穿衣，受膏和抹血。對應的預表是悔改潔淨，屬靈操練，聖靈澆灌和赦免重生。
其實有時我還是覺得不明白神為何要揀選我來作祂的子民，因為要能做到『分別為聖』對我來說真是有點困難，每天上班看到同事玩股票大賺一筆，和我同期進來的同事升官做我的主管，以前公司的同事領到的分紅是我一年的薪水，我就無法明白自己能否脫離這世界，減少一些物質慾望，能勇敢的走向『成聖』的道路。對於亞倫和他的兒子們，我不知道他們被揀選為祭司時是否已經準備好了，但是我想他們應該和神的關係十分親密，也十分明白神給他們的使命，但願主能憐憫我，在我被世界拉回去時，能讓我更清楚看到您的真理與道路。

Before Aaron and his sons underwent ordinance, they had to be washed with water (Le 8:6), clothed with the designated costume (8:7-9), and poured with some of the anointing oil on their head (8:12).
Then they must lay their hands on the head of the bull for the sin offering (8:14) as well as on the head of the ram for the burnt offering (8:18). They then slaughtered the ram (8:23) to show that their pureness solely came from the Lord.
This way it means that the priest got the spiritual pureness either because of how high his status was or because of how long he had been with the religion. Only by relying on the Lord will we lead a lively, spiritual life.

Yesterday and today I saw many colorful clouds as described in Rev 4:3. After the thunders, storms, and tornado, come the rainbows. Our LORD,the Lord of rainbow, comes back to us on the road to Emmaus. Do we recognize Him ? Or all we see is the valley of the shadow of death(Ps 23:4)? He is the Resurrection and the Life. He is our hope. Look and listen! He is knocking at our door, bringing a new heaven and earth (Rev 3:20, 21:1-5).

耶利米有罪嗎？Agnes 說她搞不清楚耶利米犯了什麼罪讓上帝來審判他，甚至讓他那麼痛苦的看著他的國被滅，孩童被擄，百姓哀號。這裡他自己認知是因他違背耶和華的命令（哀1:18），那耶和華給他的命令是什麼呢？我想是要他讓以色列百姓悔改，轉向神的道路。我覺得他其實是沒有違背而是沒有做到，但是他的內心十分痛苦，他嘆息卻沒有人安慰他，他的仇敵見到他都見獵心喜。他的反應是求神也審判他們的罪行就如神審判我一樣（哀1:22）。
人不可能完美，或許我們也不該拿石頭去砸那行淫的婦人，審判的權柄還是在上帝手中吧。

Yet, he still clung to hope, thinking as long as his people were willing to pour out their heart like water in the presence of the Lord and lift their hands to Him, the Lord might save them from sin.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Ro 6:23).

大衛跟上帝祈求時，有時會告訴上帝要答應的原因。就好像Stephanie跟我要巧克力時，她會說：『媽媽，買巧克力給我，因為我很乖。』天父爸爸，雖然我不完美，可是我有盡量讓自己很乖，您要把恩典與喜樂賜給我喔！

He also prayed for a sign of goodness (17). Yet, our heavenly Father does know what we need, so we may well cast our anxiety on him because He cares for us.

在面臨快沒有餅和麵的寡婦，還要她再捐出一些餅給以利亞，換做我是那個寡婦，我是否會捐的出來呢？家裡還有一個小兒子等著吃東西，也沒有丈夫能幫忙我負擔家裡的經濟，上帝的恩典似乎離我很遙遠，上帝啊，您難道不知道我的需要嗎？
上帝沒有給那寡婦答案，反而要寡婦把餅分給不認識的人。這寡婦做了，上帝也賜下恩典給她。
但是在寡婦的兒子得到重病時，寡婦還是忘記了之前的恩典，抱怨以利亞讓她受到神的懲罰。我想換成我的女兒也得到這樣的病，我大概也很會很難接受這樣的打擊，但是上帝藉著以利亞讓他兒子死裡復活，也讓那寡婦完全的信服神。
但願神也憐憫我，在試驗我的時候能讓我得著一點甘露，讓我能經過水火，讓我到您那豐富之地。
詩篇66:10-12 「神啊，你曾試驗我們，熬煉我們，如熬煉銀子一樣。你使我們進入網羅，把重擔放在我們的身上。你使人坐車軋我們的頭；我們經過水火，你卻使我們到豐富之地。」

我覺得上帝如何揀選了祂的百姓來相信祂是一件很奇妙的計畫。

It is not easy to have full confidence in a stranger. Elijah obeyed God's order so God performed miracle on the widow, giving her sufficient food and saving her son's life.
We live by faith, not by sight (2Co 5:7).

幸福不是因為擁有的多。
似乎寡婦對於罈內的麵不減少，瓶裡的油不短缺視為理所當然。就好像我覺得日用飲食理所當然一般（即使有謝飯禱告，真心的感謝，但並無法每次都思量這是多麼大的恩典）。直到寡婦的兒子沒有了氣息，藉由以利亞見證神的大能，才真實思量這是多麼大的恩典阿。
今天與JBC一起同工的時候，請教JBC對於水災的看法。JBC很謙卑的認為，上帝的智慧不是人所能思量的。就好像寡婦的兒子沒有氣息，大家可能會想，怎麼會發生這種事，明明是上帝讓以利亞去寡婦家，還讓寡婦家發生這種事情。然而，或許因為這件事，讓寡婦體認上帝對她的恩典，從此生命變得不同也不一定。現在，只能求主耶穌堅定我的信心，我的意念，讓我相信，相信祂是最愛我的阿爸。

The votive offering is prompted by a feeling of gratefulness at the fulfillment of a petition; while the free-will sacrifice, which has the character of complete voluntariness, has its origin not so much in the gratitude elicited by a happy experience as in the spontaneous motive of piety.

谷哥告訴我，其實在利未記第三章便有說明平安祭，在這裡第七章也談到平安祭，這兩章平安祭的差異是前者是人向耶和華獻供物，後者是特別獻與耶和華平安祭，一種是普通的獻祭，另一種是特別的獻祭。
不過，我再把這兩章節讀了一次還是不大明白普通和特別的差異。只是在想是不是透過這樣獻祭便可以得到平安呢？這時我突然想到挪亞，當他走出方舟的第一件事便是向神獻祭，耶和華聞那馨香之氣，就心裡說︰『我不再因人的緣故咒詛地，也不再按著我才行的滅各種活物了。』或許，當人開始轉向神，獻上潔淨的祭物後，地上便能產生馨香的氣息，這時天和地，地和人的關係才能得到改善，平安才能降臨吧。

老實說在舊約裡面有許多殺戮或是審判看起來都十分殘忍，但是如果我們不去了解他們之前做了什麼事情，而只關心他們為什麼要遭到處刑，這似乎也不夠客觀。就如同德國人如果不知道蓋世太保在二次大戰是如何對待猶太人，那他們可能也無法接受紐倫堡大審的結果。對於上帝的公義或許不能用片斷的記錄來解釋，但是對於善與惡的定義似乎是沒有灰色地帶。

有時我會想上帝的國度是怎麼樣的國度呢？上帝的旨意又是怎麼樣的旨意呢？

The fall of Jerusalem and the end of the kingdom of Judah was a sad time period. Zedekiah refused to accept the pronouncements of God. He looked for a way out, but he wanted it on his terms.
Man cannot change the will of God. The intimation of God's messengers did not change the message. Man mocked the message, but the result remained. Thus, we should humble ourselves before God and submit to His will.

父母是孩子仿效的對象，如果一個小孩子生長在背離神的家庭，父母的道德敗壞，小孩大概也無法有正確的道德觀念。有錢有勢的皇宮貴族要接受的考驗可能又比一般家庭來的更多，或許得到的恩典越多，就應該更要懂得感謝與分享，不然給小孩太多可能也不見得是件好事。

Could it be possible that the given " vision" (ought to be from god) is actually the same for the two? However one of them is "blind" and does not see the ight or the vision clearly (Acts 9:3-18, 22:6-21, 26:12-23), and the other has siritual and internal eyesight and sees not only the light but also the vision of rainbbow.So when the two are not sure if they should hoe for the marriage, asking God is always the most excellent way to find out (Judges 6:36-40). However, God's answer could possibly be unclear at once or at times. It might need time to find out what God's wil really is. The two should continue toseek God's will and not jump hastily into conclusion.

Because of the sins Jeroboam had committed and had caused Israel to commit, he provoked the Lord to anger. The Lord hates sin, once saying, "If anyone causes these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around his neck" (Mr 9:42).
The responsibility of a leader is heavy. Baasha King and the Kings hereafter of Israel didn't learn the lesson from their predecessor but followed suit instead. Many painful lessons can be drawn from the figures and failure experiences in Bible. We had better not repeat history.

論財富有「富不過三代」的說法，運用在信仰上，教會裡超過三代的信徒其實不少，戴德生一家更是接連幾代都是宣教士。為什麼大衛的敬虔無法傳給後代的王（雖然自耶羅波安開始就與他無血緣）？
「行耶和華眼中看為惡的一切事，以他手所做的惹耶和華發怒，像耶羅波安的家一樣」就這樣延續下去（北國的先知一定很難當）...一個壞的、不正的根基，再往上堆疊還是難逃傾毀的結局。
求神幫助我，日常生活都能有好的立基（連於基督），一旦發現有傾斜（大部分是需要別人提醒才會發現），求神給我改變的能力與勇氣。阿們！

『你們當救自己脫離這彎曲的世代。』
現在的世代可能比初代教會那時更彎曲，但是教會的能力好像卻遠不如初代教會，這主要可能在於教會逐漸喪失他的影響力，初代教會的信徒是完全降服於神，聖靈與他們同在，他們認識耶穌，親近耶穌，熱愛耶穌，知道如何過著像基督的生活，更清楚明白自己的使命是不同於這世界。但是現在的信徒反而大都被世界捆綁，無法清楚的認識耶穌，更不明白自己的使命。我想，主揀選了我們，為我們釘十字架，不過要讓自己脫離這彎曲的世代可能還是必須從自己開始做起。

The believers in Christianity at the fledgling stage of church development were pure in heart. They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. They were together and had everything in common. They sold their possessions and goods and gave to anyone as he had need.
When we are rich in material, we will be poor in spirit. Those believers shared their life, praised God, and enjoyed the favor of all the people. No wonder God added to their number daily those who were being saved (Ac 2:47).

一般人所獻的素祭，祭司可以分得一部份（這是從所獻給神的火祭中賜給他們的分），而祭司所獻給神的，就是「全然」獻上了。

不是很清楚一般人獻的素祭與大祭司獻的素祭的差別，只是這裡有句話︰『凡獻給耶和華的火祭，亞倫子孫中的男丁都要吃這一分，直到萬代，作他們永得的份。摸這些祭物的，都要成為聖。』
這讓我有個感覺，我覺得獻祭的目的可能是要我們懂得『分別為聖』，當我們的罪因著耶穌的救贖而得赦免時，我們內心深處會被聖靈觸摸，祂會引領我們分別出自己，讓我們的生命能被改變。

The ritual of the grain offering is that the worshipper prepared the grain offering, and then he brought it to the priest. The priest burned a memorial portion on the altar. The rest was eaten by the priests in the courtyard of the tabernacle.
On the contrary, Lev (6:23) regarding the grain offering by a priest, says that it shall not be eaten -- No part of it shall be eaten by the priest.
The reason of the difference is probably because when the priest offered it for the people, he was to have some recompense for his pains, partly to signify the imperfection of the Levitical priest, who could not bear their own iniquity.
For the priest's not eating the sacrifices, it might mean it is their duty to serve God with singleness of heart, and to be content with God's honor though they have no present advantage by it.

昨天是父親節，我給了我自己一個禮物就是跑去聽慕約翰牧師的特會，這位遠從烏干達來的牧師，曾經讓這愛滋病猖獗的國家變成基督教復興的見證，使我想去聽看看這種神大大使用的僕人會傳達什麼信息。
整個講道讓我覺得他所強調的是要我們自己去思考為何神揀選我們成為祂的子民？為什麼耶穌要為我釘上十字架？這問題其實不是很好回答，但是他覺得其中有一個目的是要『讓神的國度降臨，讓神的旨意行在天上如同行在地上。』
這句話似乎可以很簡單的表示神創造宇宙萬物和人的意義，也讓我感覺聖經許多的故事也都是祈求這樣的結果︰『我們在天上的父：願人都尊你的名為聖。 願你的國降臨；願你的旨意行在地上，如同行在天上。』
回到今天的題目，我會覺得上帝興起巴比倫也讓巴比倫滅亡，這有可能也和神的國度有關，我很喜歡金恩博士在他的『我有一個夢裡』的一段描述︰『每一個峽谷將升高，每一座山丘和高峰被削低，崎嶇粗糙的地方改造成平原，彎彎曲曲的地方變得筆直，上帝的榮耀得以展露，全人類都將舉目共睹。』

我覺得不管巴比倫有沒有「參與」神對祂子民的管教，都還是要面對審判（like we all do），侵略以色列時「太超過」的部份，只是其中一項。

草戊尚土 牧師和各位俱樂部的兄姐，平安：
我想，第一首詩歌告訴我們一個盡心盡力愛主的人是蒙受恩典的，只要悔改轉向上帝仍得著救贖；第二首說明了上帝的公義與憐憫，只有祂能掌握審判的權柄。第三首則是祈求神使仇敵滅亡，不要讓他們聯手來打擊我。
這樣連起來的感覺像是當我們在蒙受恩典得著救贖之後，也應當效法上帝的公義與憐憫，不論是在物質或是心靈上都能照顧貧寒與窮乏的人，即便遭人恥笑或是辱罵，或是禱告遲遲未能應許，上帝還是與我們同在，祂會彰顯祂的榮耀。

These days Abraham's story (Ge 12:2), David's story(1Sa16), Esther's story (Est 1-4), and Ruth's story(Ru 1-4) kept reciting in my heart. Our God, You called them, for Your very own purpose, to build Your Kingdom( Isa 9:6-7). Ruth followed Your calling and her heart's calling and went home (the real home in her heart) and eventually built her house (also the future House of the Lord)(Isa 7:14; Ruth 4:13-22).
This song "The Lord Is Calling Me" is throbbing in my heart (SS 1). Are You calling me home also (Ruth 1,2; Ps 45:10)?
O our God, thank You for keeping us under Your rainbow (Ge 6, 9; Rev 4,5). O our Father, thank You for sending Your Son to save us from our sins (Mt 1:23). O our Lord, thank You for Your blood(1Co 11:25) to atone for our sin and take away our guilt (Isa 6:7; Ps 23, 32, 51, 91, and 103), so that we can answer Your calling, so that we can be Your coworkers, so that we can build a dwelling place for You in our heart (Eph 2:22), so that together we build our house (2Sa 7:11).

Since Babylon was senseless and without knowledge, the Lord was angry about her worshipping the worthless idols, the objects of mockery. Its land trembled and writhed, for the Lord's purposes against Babylon stood—to lay waste the land of Babylon (Jer 51: 29).
He also said, "See, I will defend your cause and avenge you…"(36). Though God tolerated Babylon's wrongdoing toward the Israelites for a while, He ultimately filed judgment on Babylon's sin.

亞撒一生卻向耶和華存誠實的心。
我想要讓聖經能這樣記載一個君王算是很不錯的成績了。
最近公司也剛結束上半年的績效評核，其中一般符合預期的只能拿三分，超出預期甚至表現傑出的人才能拿到四分到五分（1-5分來評比），如果上帝也對聖經裡記載的人物打分數，我想亞撒有可能落在四分，畢竟他能很誠實的面對自己的信仰，這在當時道德混亂的世代，甚至是現在的物質社會，或許都是很不容易做到的事情吧。
但願主幫助我，在我軟弱時不要讓我放棄信仰，在我面臨別人異樣眼光時，也能給我力量，誠實地面對我的信仰。
