The verse tells us that we should be free of evil influence, such as covetousness, the love of material things (Pr 28: 15-16), bribery, the tool of many lobbyists (Pr 29:4), women and alcohol, bane of many politicians and businessmen (Pr 31:1-5).
Evil influence spreads easily. That's why we should be careful.

The Lord says, "You should not look down on your brother in the day of his misfortune, nor rejoice over the people of Judah in the day of their destruction, nor boast so much in the day of their trouble"(Ob 12).
Esau is the brother of Jacob, but when Israel was in calamity, Edom did not give his helping hand. Besides, Edom was so proud that the thought of defeating others occurred.
"Anyone, then, who know the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins"(Jas 4:17). Arrogance and lack of compassion might be the two main reasons why Edom decayed.

I think the temple of the LORD is the house of love where our heaven father lived in. We hope we can have a place in the house of the Lord all of our lifetime. However, we still may leave this house for the sake of our free will. When we see this house agian and we also can feel the love of Lord again. That will be a wonderful time to rebuild the relationship with Lord. Just like a lost child to see his parent again. And crying is only way to show his pleasure.

There might be two reasons why the older folks cried in the midst of this worship service going on. First, since they had seen Solomon's temple in all its beauty, majesty, and awe-inspiring design, this new building wasn't even close. Second, they were in such great joy to see the temple was to be rebuilt that they burst out tears.
For these old men, they definitely had mixed feelings at that moment. But In the kingdom of God, there are seasons of wealth and seasons of poverty. As the Apostle Paul put it, "I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am" (Phil 4:11-13). This was probably the lesson that the Lord wanted them to learn.

大聲哭號的是「見過舊殿的老年人」，哭的原因...
可能是抒發長久以來「被擄」的辛酸、「得以歸回」的喜樂與感恩。
可能是懊悔「從前為何不聽神的話」。
可能是重建聖殿的規模和所羅門王建的聖殿，規模差很多，以致更生懊悔之心。
可能是很久沒有「完整」的敬拜神，所以號聲一起...就哭了。
無論甚麼理由，這些老年人能在有生之年回到「應許之地」，能再一次看到聖殿重建，能再一次以「神的選民」的身分按著神所指示的方式敬拜祂，歡呼或哭號，都是感恩吧！

「他(亞伯)雖然死了，卻因這信，仍舊說話。」(11:4)這句經文真實地實踐在我的好朋友身上。
我的好朋友1996年去世，今年他們大學同學辦畢業20週年同學會，特別把《台北和平教會》及《WOW部落格》放在他們的專屬網頁上。
我的好朋友肉身不在了，但「因著信，繼續傳福音」。希伯來書裡的這些如雲彩般的見證人，如同麥子，雖然死了，卻結出許多子粒來－－包括我們。
「昨日、今日直到永遠，耶穌不改變」，我們與聖經裡所記載的這些屬靈偉人，信靠同一位神，也必定同樣可以經歷神的信實與慈愛，求主堅固我們的信心！

I think there are two problems: one problem is why Israel people always cannot surrender to God. Another problem is why Moses can pray for those bad guys not only one time. The same answer maybe from God's love. Because of God's love, people can have complete free will to fight God. Because of God's love, people can pray for those bad guys for the same salvation. The only hope for the peace is from God's love. May Lord help me to be aware of your love in every second everytime.

看到妳的分享了:
好久沒上部落格發現多了很多文章，所以立真妳是問了二個問題嗎?就是要如何業單單在意上帝?以及是否禱告改變別人?
我願意嘗試先分享對第一個問題的看法:有些人以為「把神擺在第一位」指的是不須去追求地上的知識名聲地位金錢與權力而是以在這些事上的好表現來榮耀神借此傳福音給其他人；有些人以為是要將「財寶積在天上」，學業工作是為了要有獨立的財務來源而不必麻煩別人並可以在這些物質的事幫助他人，所以學業工作不是最重要的，因為最重要的是在每日生活中與神建立關係以及傳福音給別人；有些人以為是指不管努力做一個「全職傳道人」做神的事工與親近神或者是「在職侍奉」神都是上帝所喜悅的，因此重點是除了努力的盡好學生以及上班之義務外，在剩下的時間要撥出部分給神參加小組當輔導去探訪等等；除了這些解釋外也有人認為認識神是指要有靈命的增長個性的改變愈來愈像耶穌愈來愈能體會神的旨意。
以上這些想法大部分都是我某一個人生階段的想法也是我很多的困惑以及問別人後所得到的答案，這次愛修會去烏來「大雄」跟我說：「是要禱告親近神與生活上的實踐並重」。我想是一個很好的答案。
然而對我而言有一個想很久的問題是：「如果我好好認真唸書到了晚上十一點多才回到家然後洗澡吃宵夜後又一直讀到累的差點睡著大概在晚上三四點時然後簡單的禱告一下就睡覺了...然後明天一早十點或九點就要上課...在八點時勉強睜開眼睛簡單盥洗後就沖沖忙忙的到了學校甚至有點可能會遲到之下...一天一天的活著...我哪有時間讀經禱告敬拜讚美靈修默想神的話呢？」還有就是：「如果在工作後可能常常會有活動例如在外交上晚餐晚宴等等之活動結束後即便沖沖趕回家可能都晚上要十一點了...明天一大早八點九點又要上班，哪裡有時間參加很多的小組聚會讀經禱告以及個人的靈修呢？」但是像「道一哥」就提醒說：「所有的時間投入工作學業並不一定會比較有成就，我自己的例子是去教會與靈修生活可以使我更有活力以及表現」但是我想到的問題是：「我同意要每天要撥出一點時間在屬神的事上才能更加認識神。但是至少每天是要多久呢？五分鐘可以嘛？還是要半小時呢？還是要一小時呢？」另外一個想到的問題是：「為什麼不能說我認真的唸書盡心的工作就不能算『屬神的事呢』？或者說是否存在一種唸書工作之『態度』是可以『算為屬神的事』呢？」
這些問題我都沒有得到解答，但是我目前比較傾向的看法是：「如果我是可以在某個領域頂尖出類拔萃對國家社會人類有貢獻的工作或研究，那麼我即使全部投入所有的時間在這個可以幫助社會國家世界的目標上而只有禮拜天去做禮拜三餐睡前禱告參加小組以及偶爾可能每隔幾天會自己讀經禱告親近神這樣雖然不能算為很『愛主』或『很認識神』，以這種盡心盡力的在該等領域上『求進步』的態度是否是不應該被認為是遠離神？或者是說這樣的『求進步』的『過程』中『只要』有歸榮耀給神並藉此向該領域內與領域外的人傳福音見證神的恩典，那麼這樣的態度是否也是在這個『過程』中可以認識神的呢？亦即是否『存在』讀經禱告敬拜讚美默想神以外的方法來認識神呢？亦即是否『存在』認真的『在該等領域求進步』與『認識神』調和之『可能』呢？」

看這段經文，深深地被提醒，很多時候該負責的並不是自己，卻為了愛的緣故，願意一起承擔。而我們的信仰就是這樣。
親愛的主啊，我知道我所犯的錯，已有人在祢面前為我代求。願我常常紀念在心，也回報在別人的身上，把握機會為別人代求。

In fact, they rejected these days appointed by God and they couldn't wait until they were over. Besides, there was chronic corruption and cheating in the dealership. When they sold (bad) wheat, they used a small measure. When they bought or gave change, they used a large measure for the shekel.
Summer fruit is the fruit that is ripe, and will not keep long. Just as the time is short for summer fruit, so the time was short for Israel.

"Do not envy wicked men; do not desire their company" (Pr 24:1).
"Do not fret because of evil men…" (24:19).
"…it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and rich blessing will come upon them" (24:25).
So we should know how to distinguish right from wrong regardless of the plausible evil influence that the wicked might exert on us. Besides, there is no need to envy the temporary smoothness of the wicked since they will be cursed and denounced.

I think the people who can provide sacrifices to God is better than those people who always keep sacrifices for himself. To understand the sin can become more humble for God and others. To be one guy who have ability to provide sacrifices should always remind the cost of sacrifices.

According to the author of Hebrews, the Lord did not desire sacrifice and offering nor was he pleased with burnt offering and sin offerings. Therefore, those sacrifices were merely an annual reminder of sins because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins (Heb 10:4).
Only when Christ had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins could our sins be taken away. Because of that sacrifice, Christ has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

Recently, I went to Bali island with my wife and we found there existed two different worlds in this island. One world is like the land of Canaan which located in the luxury resort hotel. Another world is like the desert which located in the poor villege. Some western people only lived inside the resort hotel and did not want to visit the outside villege. They did not want their hands and feet become dirty. Sometimes, we also only want to enjoy the beauty of Canaan and did not want to experience the difficulty of desert. However, the most unforgetable scenery cannot be found in the resort hotel. You cannot see it in the sling chair, you need to walk across the desert.

這章我覺得還有一個比較是值得我們注意的提醒，就是除了很顯而易見的神像或是想模仿人的形象的東西之外，十字架也是一個具有危險性的東西。如同十屆中的第二誡所說的「不可為自己雕偶像，也不可做什麼形象，彷彿天上、地下，和地底下、水中的百物。不可跪拜那些像，也不可事奉它，因為我耶和華你的神是忌邪的神...」(出二十4及其後經文)。
很多基督徒都會帶著十字架的項鍊，我也聽過很多不同的原因和說法，有的是表明自己基督徒的身分、有的是為了儆醒自己。我覺得的這些都不錯，可是如巴克所說的，聖經的教導其實神是沒有一個我們可以理解的形象的，很多觀點或是看法都對，但都不能完全的代表神。
當我看完在說十字架的這段的時候，其實我有一個好笑的事情可以跟大家分享XD 其實我原本也是想要戴個十字架的項鍊的，可是我看來看去都沒有一個我比較喜歡的，所以最後我也沒有戴了。看完書之後我自己想想覺得很好笑~其實我也在"挑"十字架阿，難道不好看的、我不喜歡的就不能夠代表耶基督的救贖嗎?所以搞不好我沒戴是對我比較好的，這樣我才不會將我對上帝的形象侷限在一個我喜歡的十字架上面，而且我又是很懶惰的人，搞不好最後這只會變成一個形式上的東西而已。
後來想想，其實我還蠻喜歡一個超乎我的理性可以想像的上帝(這是題外話，或許只是喜歡代表我不夠認識上帝) ＸＤ

If we cannot cherish what the Lord gives us, He will take away what we don't deserve. Locusts can destroy our crop; fire can devour the land. They are the symbols to remind us that we need to treat what we have in a pious manner. Don't take everything for granted.
The Lord will not spare the plumb line, which means He will watch how we behave and how we make use of what He offers us. God is not only merciful but also strict. As His child, constant reflection on our acts is indeed necessary.

約西亞是個好王，神也應許他「我必使你平平安安地歸到墳墓，到你列祖那裡，我要降與這地和其上居民的一切災禍，你也不致親眼看見。」(34:28)
可是，最終約西亞是死於戰場，而且是改裝上陣，「不聽從神藉尼哥之口所說的話，便來到米吉多平原爭戰。」(35:22)
悲壯一點的想法，約西亞是不是想盡一己之力，阻止神藉先知所預言的災禍？約西亞或許不像希西家聽到自己可以善終、看不到國家傾毀就暗自竊喜？
或許約西亞上戰場的決定，正是落在牧師主日講道的「許旨 (Permissive Will)」裡，是神許可約西亞做的選擇。

不太明白，麥基洗德是"人"嗎？他是王(7:1)，「他無父，無母，無族譜，無生之始，無命之終，乃是與 神的兒子相似。」(3)位份比亞伯拉罕高，「收納亞伯拉罕的十分之一，為那蒙應許的亞伯拉罕祝福。」(6)
亞倫（利未支派）在律例之後成為祭司，麥基洗德在律法之前已經是王、是祭司，雖說麥基洗德是耶穌的預表，但我不禁懷疑......會不會就是"神子"（尚未道成肉身）耶穌？
無論如何，保羅提到「更美的約」、「更美的應許」，所以祭司麥基洗德、祭司亞倫都是讓我們預先嘗到與神和好的甜美；真正永存的大祭司耶穌，以他自己為祭物，一次獻祭，救恩永遠成立！哈利路亞！感謝讚美主！

Melchizedek and Aaron were the two great Priests of the Old Testament. Of the two, Melchizedek was the greater. Melchizedek was not only the head of his order, but he had no successor. The office began and terminated with him (Heb 7:3).
Christ's order as Priest is that of Melchizedek, not at all that of Aaron; Heb 7 makes this fact perfectly clear. Melchizedek's and Aaron's priesthoods, are gloriously accomplished in the work of Jesus Christ.

三災的目的是毀滅以色列王國，要毀滅以色列王國的原因是以色列王國失去公平、正義。這可從前面幾章得到此結論。然仔細看內容，幾乎都是有錢、權、能力的上層人，欺壓、拐騙、強奪沒錢、權、能力的下層人。我們的反省是，重點不是今天哪一個國家會被神審判、懲罰、毀滅，而是上帝非常，非常在意這些不公義的現象，到一個程度，祂會不惜動手行使毀滅。公平、正義絕對是神非常重視的心意，作為神兒女的我們也必須重視，我們一起來努力。 IAN

三災的目的是毀滅以色列王國，要毀滅以色列王國的原因是以色列王國失去公平、正義。這可從前面幾章得到此結論。然仔細看內容，幾乎都是有錢、權、能力的上層人，欺壓、拐騙、強奪沒錢、權、能力的下層人。我們的反省是，重點不是今天哪一個國家會被神審判、懲罰、毀滅，而是上帝非常，非常在意這些不公義的現象，到一個程度，祂會不惜動手行使毀滅。公平、正義絕對是神非常重視的心意，作為神兒女的我們也必須重視，我們一起來努力。 IAN

The main reason why the Lord forbids Israel to intermarry with the nations driven by Him is that He wants to protect the Israelites from being "polluted" by the altars, sacred stones, Asherah poles, and idols of the heathen.
God sets strong affection on the chosen and hopes for absolute faith of His people. But in modern society there are many examples of the heathenish marriage. I think He won't take His blessing away as long as His son or daughter sets a good example to his/her other half as a respectable Christian.

Sometimes, punishment only can change ones behavior but cannot change ones heart. The only one way to chang ones heart is to touch his heart and replace the old one with new one. It needs a lot of time for waiting. Only God can have such love to wait the man to change his heart. May Lord teach me to have such love for waiting the change.

For the rebellion Israel, the Lord summoned her neighboring countries Ashdod and Egypt to witness their great evil. Also, an enemy overran her land, pull down her strongholds and plunder her fortresses.
The Lord destroyed the altars of Bethel, which means He dismissed the religious system of Israel with contempt. God tore down the houses and mansions in Israel. Yet, the Israelites were still stubborn, not willing to return to Him. Disasters such as famine, drought, blight, mildew, and plagues could not wake them up.
The Israelites were indifferent to the signs or warnings from God so they had to face Him at the trial.

神要我們分食物給窮人(9)、不可欺壓貧窮(16)，可是神不要我們為欠債的作保(26)。可見「為什麼貧窮」及「如何助人脫離貧窮」是值得探討的議題。

The poor should not be treated harshly for the Lord is the Maker of the rich and the poor. The poor deserve the right to live with dignity.

瑪拿西的一生也算"有驚無險"了，12歲登基之後，行神看為惡的事，這帳...應該也算在他母親和父親希西家王身上吧！
「他在急難的時候，就懇求耶和華─他的神，且在他列祖的神面前極其自卑。他祈禱耶和華，耶和華就允准他的祈求，垂聽他的禱告，使他歸回耶路撒冷，仍坐國位。瑪拿西這才知道惟獨耶和華是神。」(33:12-13)
可惜他的兒子亞們22歲登基後，只效法瑪拿西悔改前所行的惡，而「不在耶和華面前像他父瑪拿西自卑。」(33:23)

Manasseh King of Judah did evil in the eyes of the Lord, but he repented and sought the favor of the Lord in his distress. Since he humbled himself greatly before God, He was moved by his entreaty and listen to his plea.
The Lord has always been so forgiving, yet we should be wise enough to learn from the lessons of the rebellious kings in history before we decide to act in the way that will disappoint and anger Him.

It is not easy to understand the real meaning of another Sabbath. However, I prefer to explain this Sabbath is a time to know who is God. This is from Psm 46:10, "Be still, and know that I am God."
During our daily life, we always leave God to be a busy man. However, God left his child a Sabbath to find Him. He wants to have a close relationship with his child in Sabbath. This is a time to get together with God to experience his love. May Lord help me to have this kind of Sabbath to know our Heaven Father more and more.

That "there remains a rest" (Heb 4:9) might mean there is a promise of rest made to the people of God and the promise of rest pertains to all the people of God of every generation.
In addition, here we are often worn down and exhausted but heaven is a place of cessation from wearisome toil. There might be "employment" there, but it will be without fatigue.
Rev. Tsai wanted us to think about what we could do in the heaven. This is indeed an interesting question. How wonderful it is to work in a stress-free environment! But what will I be during the eternal Sabbath?

"There is no fear in love: true love has no room for fear, because where fear is, there is pain; and he who is not free from fear is not complete in love." 1 John 4:18
God is love, but it seems difficult to experience this complete love. The history of the Israelite people seemed to also reflect our own personal life history. When we cannot experience God's love, we always created another idol as our love. This behvaior will cause the fear of God for the sake of betray. May Lord help me to keep the faith for your complete love.

Probably none of us have ever imagined the day when we can see God in person and speak with Him. But those Israelites did experience it, so they were scared in the very beginning especially with the blazing fire in front of them.
May I not fear when the Lord's glory and majesty is shown to me one day! Furthermore, may I grasp the chance to go near and listen to what He says and then obey unquestioning. Prayer in Name of Jesus Christ~

上個禮拜（9月末）的講道，讓我很震撼
當時的我很猶豫到底要不要參加敬拜團
要的話，又是參加青契的還是大堂的好呢？
那裡拜三的查經，是否還要參加呢？
上禮拜去參加敬拜團卻因為他們在練習音樂會而撲空
本來有點失望的，不想去了...但是蔡牧師的講道，卻再次提醒我：我們理應當要將神放在首位！
我愛上帝，不是因為我以後想要上天堂
但是我必須承認，當天國收網時，我想要成為那被留下來的好魚。
而Tammy的見證也再度提醒我：我今天之所以能在台北，完全是因為上帝的恩典，那我豈能為了學校和事俗的事情而割捨教會的事呢？
有時候上帝爸拔會變成我的阿拉丁神燈，但是若我們的軟弱一次比一次還少，是否我們也是越來越像神的們徒呢？？

本來有點失望的，不想去了...但是蔡牧師的講道，卻再次提醒我：我們理應當要將神放在首位！
我愛上帝，不是因為我以後想要上天堂
但是我必須承認，當天國收網時，我想要成為那被留下來的好魚。
而Tammy的見證也再度提醒我：我今天之所以能在台北，完全是因為上帝的恩典，那我豈能為了學校和事俗的事情而割捨教會的事呢？
有時候上帝爸拔會變成我的阿拉丁神燈，但是若我們的軟弱一次比一次還少，是否我們也是越來越像神的們徒呢？？

Dear All, Peng An,
Evil is existed in everywhere in current world. The most terrible thing of evil is to live into ones heart from small thing. It is not easy to find them except people return to see his heart. That's why someone looks right and well-behavior, but he still can do evil things in underground. Pride, greedy, selfish, anger ….etc, they are the little evils which can fully occupy ones heart eventually. May Lord help me to look into my heart and clear those evils.

The Lord is compared to a lion, roaring from Zion and thundering from Jerusalem (Am 1:2). If I were among the audience when Amos is delivering the message that God will punish the sinner, I would reflect upon myself which crime I have ever committed and how I should face the Lord's judgment.
I would certainly get tense and anxious if Amos were on behalf of the Lord envisioning His anger. But I think the Israelites weren't aware of their imminent disaster when they listened to Amos's words. This reminds us to stay vigilant of our everyday acts, so that we won't be lost before we are conscience-stricken.
