The Lord's home welcomes everyone. Jesus is concerned about not only His mother and brothers but also whoever loves Him. He never impartially treats His people. Church is the home where God's people have to love each other like family and undoubtedly He always keeps His eyes on the relationship from within.

Jesus fasted for forty days (Mt 4:2). He emphasized that the purpose of fasting should not be to impress others or to show off. Fasting purifies one's mind so that evil won't overtake. I once tried to do fasting but failed because my mom prepared meals regularly for me. Thus, if there is family members' or companions' support, fasting will be more effective in one's pursuit of peace and restfulness.

Jesus answered, "Do you expect the guests at a wedding party to go without food? Of course not! As long as the bridegroom is with them, they will not do that. But the day will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast."
That might mean that they pray to God for help him will-being.
