約瑟在幫法老王解夢時，他其實已經三十歲了（創41:46），距離他被兄長陷害那年已隔了十三年（創37:2）， 神在這段他作奴隸及獄卒的十三年磨練他，累積他的智慧也賜他解夢的能力，神很奇妙的先藉由膳長及酒政的夢，以及兩年後法老王的夢來成就約瑟，而這夢卻是出於 神的計畫。

但願主給我同在的智慧，讓我的夢想是出於您的計畫，明白您給我夢想的意義，也給我實現夢想的能力。

我覺得埃及在神的計畫當中似乎是特別的,亞伯拉罕'約瑟,甚至主耶穌都曾經到埃及得到庇護.

法老王的夢,代表著神的預警;在那之前,神又已經預備好約瑟;以上加起來,又代表著雅各全家的得救(from饑荒).

神的計畫總是完整的,中間有祂的子民,也有不是的..但總的加起來,就是要讓信他的人更加堅定,未信祂的人能經由這些事來認識祂.

God's justice would always be overshadowed by God's mercy. This was the message conveyed by many Old Testament Prophets. This was also the main message of the crucifixion to be followed by the resurrection in the New Testament.

Dear all, Peng An,
Posterity was a major concern for all Israel marriages. Thus Israel would have a law to guarantee those who died without any offspring to have their posterity through the help of the younger brothers.
Due to consecutive deaths of Judah's two sons, Judah became overprotective to his third son. Thus Tarmar was barred from getting a offspring from her husband's younger brother. In order to assure a posterity for her deceased husband, Thamar had to use cheating to get herself pregnant from her father in law.
Judah confessed that Thamar was more righteous than he was. I thought this would clarify for us the moral issues involved in this incidence. This might be also the turning point in the spirituality of Judah's life.
