首先，我想先感謝 草戊尚土 牧師 在百忙之中仍花那麼多時間來回應我們的看法，讓我從中收穫良多，真是很感謝，也但願天父阿爸保守您的平安。
『視而不見』，自以為是的那雙眼已經完全取代了鼻子上的那雙眼，所以看到再多的神蹟也無法改變法老的心意。
其實，我有時也會這樣，看到該做的事不想去做，看到不對的事不敢去糾正，看到別人受苦不會去關心，看到自己做錯卻也不想承認。
『視而不見』，讓我自己可以看不見每件事，但是 神卻又要讓我逐一看見。
親愛的主，感謝您給了我看見的恩典，但是我卻常常選擇看不見，但願您憐憫我，讓我能走到西羅亞的池子，用您的話語洗淨我的雙眼，讓您改變我的生命，讓我能重新看見這個世界。

Yeah, God created Man, and Man created Idol....but treated his humanly created Idol as God....
But it was very difficult for us to worship the true God. As all we could do was to worship what we believed as God, which was inevitably our psychological perception anc concept of God... which, by our definition, was idol....

Yeah, God created Man, and Man created Idol....but treated his humanly created Idol as God....

Psalm 23 was short, but had great impact on the spiritual lives of many people of all generations.
The power of a poem was so great. The images used in this psalm changed so fast... from his relationship with God to enjoy a carefree and want free life...to the seren scenery of the green pasture and the calm creekside...from walking on the path of righteousness to enjoy the spiritual refreshness... then suddenly the whole picture was changed to that of horror and threat of death.... the valley of the shadow of death... then a deeper experience of the presence of God....Such presence of God would be more powerful than the same presence of God when the environment was so serene and peaceful.... then the most extreme contrast of serving banquet in the face of the enemies... what an unimaginable contrast... the aointing of the head and the filling to the brim of the cups of blessing... all happened in the face of the enemy... finished up by eternal destiny of worship and harmony with our God... forever...

We had two sets of eyes, one pair of external eyes which help us to see the outside world created by God. Another set of eye was internal eye which help us to interpret the sights we saw in the outside world. Usually the inside eye would determine what our outside eyes would and could see.
We had a saying, Seeing without perceiving. Shih Er Pu Chian. (視而不見). Our presumption and preoccupation would definitely impact on our vision.

Prophet Jeremiah was a prophet of tears. What he saw and experienced was the apostasy and disaster of the whole country. Yahweh chose him to play the role of a prophet in such dark and despair period in Israel history.
Thanks to Mou for sharing the story of penguins... The story would create a sense of hope in the dark world of Jeremiah...

Thanks for your comments and sharing. God revealed Himself to humanity through two pathways. The first pathway was through His creation of nature with natural law. The second pathway was His creation of culture through human creativity with moral law.
From these two laws, natural and cultural-moral, we could learn that our God was a God of order (cosmos), not God of disorder (chaos).

The love between Jonathan and David was so touching, that some scholars would speculate that whether their friendship had homosexual tendency....
Anyway, this kind of friendship was very inspiring to me. Jesus Christ told his disciples that he would treat them as friend, and a good friend would lay down his life for his friend...
The melody of that hymn, what a friend we have in Jesus seemed to ring in my ears.....

Originally, I was also against denominations, I would like to have one Chrisianity in Unity....
Then slowly, I discovered that denomination phenomena might be one of God's mercy to humanity diversity.... Just a thought to share with you...

Your comment was good. Usually we could not clearly and decisively understand the meaning and significance of what happened in our lives. We could only guess... like what Paul said, looking through a dark window...all seemed to be fuzzy and uncertain...
This was the limitation of our rationality...

Yeah, suffering was a mystry to us human beings. And I would agree with you that during our mysterious sufferings, we could choose to depart from our God or we could choose to cling more closely to our God...

I would defintely and strongly encourage you to consider rewrite the whole bible in your imagination and creativity. The result might be a book full of interest and insight....
People would choose to hear what they decided to hear beforehand, and refuse to listen to what they would not like to hear...

Each time when I wrote my emails or letters, I would like to start with a greeting, Peng An.
Peng An might refer to inner serenity, or outer harmony. The former might be related to what psychoanalytical school would say about our inner struggles among our Ego, Id and Superego. The latter would be more broad and complicated in our relationship with ourselves, our neighbors, our enemies, our environment, and our God...

Each time when I wrote my emails or letters, I would like to start with a greeting, Peng An.
Peng An might refer to inner serenity, or outer harmony. The former might be related to what psychoanalytical school would say about our inner struggles among our Ego, Id and Superego. The latter would be more broad and complicated in our relationship with ourselves, our neighbors, our enemies, our environment, and our God...

Yeah, JBC must be either very busy or had other detractions, so we would miss her comments today.
This seemed to express one kind of justice, so called retributive justice....
But reading Matthew 5:38-48, it seemed to me that Jesus Christ came to this world to teach us a new kind of justice, so called restorative justice, which would use kindness and mercy to win over an enemy, to restore a broken relationship....

As I could see from your responses that all of us were trying to symbolize or spiritualize or principlize the meaning and significance of the war between David and Giant Goliath.
I thought few people today would think that would be a teaching for us to kill our enemy in the war field. Usually we would prefer to pray that our Lord would grant the political leaders of both sides to had enough political wisdom to solve the dispute between the two sides, whether it was between Israel and Gaza Palestinians, Taiwan and China, China and Tibet,....

All three of you tried to deciphor the possible underlying psychological process of David's eldest brother's dialogue with David.
Yuze tried to explain Eliab's mentality in a more balanced way.
That was a very good try. Usually we would more tended to divinize the hero (David) of the story, and at the same time to demonize the opposite figure.
We should learn to avoid such stereotyping tendency....
