司提反不斷地提到「我們的先祖」，不論是作對的事情，或是作得罪神的事情，他都是用這個稱呼，令我很深刻地感受到他是如地認同這一群對他張牙舞爪的人。但是這些會堂的人卻不這麼想，真的令人很難過。

"How stubborn you are!" Stephen went on to say. "How heathen your hearts, how deaf you are to God's message! You are just like your ancestors; you too have always resisted the Holy Spirit!..."

I hope my heart is full of Holy Spirit and open my ear and mind to hear, accept and follow the God's message in my life.

Stephen made a long speech about the relationship between the Lord and the Israelites. In fact, he didn't argue for himself but for the Gospel. He wanted to persuade the Jews that God is in charge of everything though His people fail once in a while. Those who refused to obey Him would definitely suffer in the end.

What Stephan said was similar to what Jesus said in the Sanhedrin (Mt 26:64; Mr 14:62; Lu 22:69). The vision he saw approved the Jesus' claim. No wonder he irritated the rebellious leaders and was put to death.
