Absalom, highly praised for his handsome appearance, was not a respectable leader. In order to realize his plans, he turned to conspiracy. For example, he set Joab's field on fire so as to force him to meet David (2 Sa 14: 29-31). He also spread the rumor that he was the king in Hebron (2 Sa 15: 10). Due to the nature of innocence, the number of Absalom's followers kept on increasing.

Though there was no blemish in Absalom's looks, he seemed to lack the elements of a good leader—virtue of patience and moderation. He was even ignorant that he was on the way to self-destruction. Absalom rejected not only the love of his father but also that of God. This is indeed a striking lesson.

草戊尚土 牧師和各位俱樂部的兄姐，平安：

請教了谷哥，他覺得這裡的『耶路撒冷』代表著教會，而『以馬忤斯』隱喻著平日生活的世界，往以馬忤斯的兩個門徒則是在生活中逐漸走向屬靈下坡的信徒。

記得牧師曾在講道中提到『做禮拜的基督徒』，就是只有在教會的禮拜才明白耶穌的道理，回到家裡便又不認識耶穌了。感覺和這裡的描述有點像，離開了耶路撒冷回到以馬忤斯便眼睛迷糊了，不認識耶穌。

我想，或許在平日生活仍會有許多的挫折打擊，心裡也不得不懷疑耶穌是不是已經不在了，但是耶穌仍願意親近我們，和我們同行，到了坐席的時候，耶穌會拿起餅來，祝謝了，擘開，遞給我們生命中所需要的豐盛恩典。

但願主憐憫我，在生活中的每一分、每一秒都仍感受到您的同在，不要被負面的情緒擊倒而失去對您的信心，在得到您奇妙恩典時打開我的雙眼，幫助我到達我該去的地方，做我應該做的事。
