Dear all, Peng An,
Yeah, these were very complicated interactions between the countries and between God and these countries. But our God seemed to have a very clear mind to know how to handle such complicated interactions.
All human relationships seemed to be all like this kind of interactions. The cause and effect were often intermingled to such a degree that sometimes it would be very hard for us to discern their relationship.

Dear all, Peng An,
Yeah, JBC was fast to refer to the pastors of HoPing. I had to confess that I could not even bear the heat of the black overcoat during summer time, that I had to raise the issue of pastor dressing during preaching and to ask the elder board to allow the pastor the option to wear only thin and short and light colored upper dressing... but I dared not to even mention whether it was permissible to wear short pant, as it would be even cooler without the long pant legs....
I liked Mou for his easily linking the bible content to his personal life experience. This was very good practice as to make our daily devotion more relevant to our own personal lives.
Thanks to YiTing for your detailed enlisting of the seven pieces of the high priest dressings. It definitely was very helpful to read such reviews...

Apostle John used large proportion of his gospel to record the last week of our Lord Jesus, especially the last night, before he was arrested and crucified. Reading those last words of our Lord could help us to understand what was the most important concern of our Lord, which was the testimony of His disciples. Because the salvation of the whole world would be hung on their testimonies. Praise be to our Lord, though they were weak and frail, yet our Lord granted them enough grace to testify for the Lord, to spread the gospel to the end of the world, both geographically and chronologically...

God's unconditional love didn't mean that we could abuse such love to engage in whatever we would like to enjoy without having to bear the consequence of those behaviors.

I liked the sharing of YiTing, that the poet Asaph changed his attention focus from himself to the Lord.
I liketd JBC's summary findings on Asaph's way of prayer, and the conclusion about 轉念, which I would translate as transformation of perspectives...
I liked the poem quoted by Mou, which was writen by the Jews in the concentration camp. Hope was a very precious gift from God, especially during the darkest days of our lives. May the Lord grant us hope no matter what situation we were in...

I liked Mr. Mou's reflection and application.
It was very interesting that the Prophet Jeremiah was inspired to prophesize about Moab. It seemed to me that our God would have sovereignty over the whole world, no matter whether the country would worhsip God or not. And God seemed to be sovereign to chose the person He would like to use to inspire to warn Moab.
I wondered whether and how Moab people responded to the prophecy made by Israel prophet Jeremiah, especially Israel was a country with impending destruction by the Lord....

In my own theology, the tree of good and evil was very important, as it represented God's special grace toward humanity by granting humanity the privilege of the freedom of choice.
The true freedom of choice would allow human to make wrong choice and to suffer the consequence. But God seemed to love human so much that He decided to send his only begotten son Jesus to bear the consequence, so as to give humanity a second chance of the freedom of choice. This second privilage was about whether to receive Jesus Christ as our Savior and the Lord of our lives.
Usually people would be easier to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior who had died for their sins on the cross. But people would be tougher to receive Jesus Christ as the Lord of their daily lives...
This was not the negation of the freedom of choice, but the loving response of the redeemed believers to use their second chance of the freedom of choice to chose to obey Jesus Christ to the most details...

I liked JBC's sharing. Usually we would tend to criticize those who seemed to fail in the Bible, but JBC's perspective was very refreshing and reminding of us not to jump into our conclusion too fast. Try to look at the same story with many different possible perspectives. yeah, perspectives were very important. May our God grant us the ability to jump out of our prejudice, and be able to raise ourselves to higher vantage point of view, so that we could try to look at the same incidence with fresh and different perspectives.....

Whew!!! We could not read your posting due to the crash of your computer, not due to other more serious personal difficulties. Sweating, sweating.... BTW, computer brought lots of blessing to us, but we seemed to be hooked on computer and internet more and more... It looked like a cursing blessing....
King Solomon's life was recorded in the Bible unabridged and unbiased. Thus we had chance to learn from his life story. Solomon was the second child of David's unlawful wife Bathesba. Yet he received God's blessing in spite of his birthing order or status. He made a very good decision during his youth to ask God for wisdom, and not for money, power, or other privileges, and God granted his prayer. He build the temple for God, and was blessed by God on temple dedication. He enjoyed good and long life, enormous fame and huge richness... Yet, in his later days, he seemed to be influenced by his concubines, so that his faith in God was contaminated by syncretism... Let's we all pray that God would protect and guide us, all the way in our lives, till the last minute of our breath...
