Nothing was in the ark but the two stone tablets which Moses put there at Horeb, where the Lord made an agreement with the children of Israel when they came out of Egypt.
"…This ark contained the gold jar of manna, Aaron's staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant" (Heb 9:4). Aaron's rod and manna might be taken from there before it was brought to this place.
"I will write on the tablets the words that were on the former tablets which you shattered, and you shall put them in the ark" (De 10:2). The reason why Solomon kept simply the two tablets on which the covenant was written was probably because they may as well serve as a token of the presence of God.

草戊尚土 牧師和各位俱樂部的兄姐，平安：
我覺得奧祕應該是很難理解的才叫做奧祕，如果很容易就懂了，那可能就不是奧祕了。這裡所說福音的奧祕，我會偏向是如何讓一個外邦人，一個不相信上帝的人，能夠透過福音，了解到耶穌在十字架上的救贖，轉而接受洗禮成為主內弟兄。這裡所牽涉到的包括上帝的揀選、福音的傳承、耶穌基督的啟示、信心的建立，其中有一個偏差，可能福音便無法傳開了。這樣想想，今天我能成為基督徒在這裡做讀經分享，真的要感謝上帝賜給我們這樣一個福音的奧祕。

有時候我會覺得要能像迦勒與約書亞一樣，對上帝的信心不會因著眼睛所看到的而改變，這可能不是那麼容易能做到的，特別是當其他人都相信自己所看到的而不相信上帝時，要能繼續相信上帝就可能會遭到別人的迫害，這時便是一個關鍵的時刻，決定你是否倒在曠野或是進入到迦南美地。
主啊，當我接受您成為我的救主時，您說：『看哪！一切都變成新的。』但願您憐憫我，不要讓我看到的是和以前一樣的，讓我能堅定您的信念，看到的是您所要我看到的。

The mystery of Christ is that through the gospel of the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus (Eph 3:6).
The Lord is our peace. He has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility between the Israelites and the Gentiles. We should follow Paul, acting as a servant of this gospel and following our bent to unveil the unsearchable riches of Christ and to make plain to everyone the mystery.
May the Spirit in my inner being strengthen me with power through faith! Prayer in the Lord of Jesus.
