Without the dross from the silver, material for the silversmith will comes out; without the wicked from a king's presence, his throne will be established through righteousness.
The verse tells us that we should be free of evil influence, such as covetousness, the love of material things (Pr 28: 15-16), bribery, the tool of many lobbyists (Pr 29:4), women and alcohol, bane of many politicians and businessmen (Pr 31:1-5).
Evil influence spreads easily. That's why we should be careful.

The Lord says, "You should not look down on your brother in the day of his misfortune, nor rejoice over the people of Judah in the day of their destruction, nor boast so much in the day of their trouble"(Ob 12).
Esau is the brother of Jacob, but when Israel was in calamity, Edom did not give his helping hand. Besides, Edom was so proud that the thought of defeating others occurred.
"Anyone, then, who know the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins"(Jas 4:17). Arrogance and lack of compassion might be the two main reasons why Edom decayed.

Sometimes, God used those people not because of their perfect purity. In contrast, God used them from their impurity. He can purify those people to be his workers because everyone is pure from His eyes.

Dear All, Peng An,
I think the temple of the LORD is the house of love where our heaven father lived in. We hope we can have a place in the house of the Lord all of our lifetime. However, we still may leave this house for the sake of our free will. When we see this house agian and we also can feel the love of Lord again. That will be a wonderful time to rebuild the relationship with Lord. Just like a lost child to see his parent again. And crying is only way to show his pleasure.

There might be two reasons why the older folks cried in the midst of this worship service going on. First, since they had seen Solomon's temple in all its beauty, majesty, and awe-inspiring design, this new building wasn't even close. Second, they were in such great joy to see the temple was to be rebuilt that they burst out tears.
For these old men, they definitely had mixed feelings at that moment. But In the kingdom of God, there are seasons of wealth and seasons of poverty. As the Apostle Paul put it, "I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am" (Phil 4:11-13). This was probably the lesson that the Lord wanted them to learn.

大聲哭號的是「見過舊殿的老年人」，哭的原因...
可能是抒發長久以來「被擄」的辛酸、「得以歸回」的喜樂與感恩。
可能是懊悔「從前為何不聽神的話」。
可能是重建聖殿的規模和所羅門王建的聖殿，規模差很多，以致更生懊悔之心。
可能是很久沒有「完整」的敬拜神，所以號聲一起...就哭了。
無論甚麼理由，這些老年人能在有生之年回到「應許之地」，能再一次看到聖殿重建，能再一次以「神的選民」的身分按著神所指示的方式敬拜祂，歡呼或哭號，都是感恩吧！
