Very interesting sharing and discussions among us in the cyberspace.
The same story might have different hermeneutic interpretations. As long as we knew that what we were doing were just our personal hermeneutic interpretations, and we would not treat them as absolute or only interpretation, then it would be fine. We oculd also develop the capacity to enjoy and to learn from the interpretations of other hermeneutic approaches.
Personally, I thought that before we did ouw hermeneutic, we might need to try our best to understand the cultural and literal contexts. So What Napal, and Abigai and David were doing might be just normal in David's day.
The important thing was that God allowed such stories to be recorded in the Bible, God must have some purpose for us to learn from these stories. We saw the self sufficiency and arrogance of Napal. We saw the desparateness and impulsion of David. We also saw the wisdom and crisis handling capability of Abigai.
