Dear all,
So the heavenly feast was an invitation from the King. But every guests invited had something which seemed to be more important than this banquet. Would we treat this heavenly feast as topmost priority in our lives?
There was cost involved in attending this heavenly feast. Jesus actually invited and challenged all of us to sit down and calculate the cost involved before our decision.
Our church was in the process of church facility reconstruction. Our elder board met many times and deliberated about the cost for this new building. Even today, our elders were holding a meeting to discuss how we could gather enough fund to pay for this new construction.
Then the metaphor was turned to that of a battle. A great military general must learn how to estimate the possibiliity of winning a war before deciding whether to engage in the war.
Thus before we started our heavenly pilgrimage, we should also sit down and think through about the cost and the challenge laid ahead of us.
