David showed his kindness for the sake of Saul to Mephibosheth, son of Jonathon. This deed was on the one hand due to his respect for the kings God ordered and on the other hand his intent to unite Judah and Israel.

Forgiveness is the medicine of rejoice. David's generosity toward Mephibosheth brought for himself political interests than he expected. Yet, Mephibosheth hesitated when he received hospitality from David. He thought he did not deserve it.

Thank God for the grace though I am unworthy of the kindness and faithfulness He has shown to me. Embraced by Him, I should learn to be the one to forgive and forget those who have ever hurt me…
