The false prophet Hananiah's words brought about illusive hope and comfort. In fact, God did point out the characteristics of a true prophet (De 13; 18:20-22). No wonder God would claim, "You have broken a wooden yoke, but in its place you will get a yoke of iron. (Jer 28:13)"

The painful truth from a true prophet does taste bitter, but it can also test the wisdom of people.
