Jeremiah was asked to keep his conversation with Zedekiah a secret (Jer 38: 24-26). As a prophet, he should have not hidden the truth from God, but since those officials were intended to scheme against him, he had no choice but to reply in wise words.

If there is someone who wants to take advantage of God's words to plot against His followers, not unfolding the messages seems to be a rightful act.
