Jesus' mother and brothers joined together with His followers, praying constantly. In my view, they regarded themselves not only as Jesus' family members but also as convincing witnesses.

So they would like to experience everything what His followers were about to undergo. They were waiting for the time to be baptized by the Holy Spirit, but before this, they together with all the Jesus' followers prayed earnestly with patience for the precious gift from Heaven.
