David prayed to God to guard his life (Ps 86:2) show mercy (3) and bring joy (4) to him. Apart from that, he was eager to God's way, so that he would walk in His truth with an undivided heart (11).

He also prayed for a sign of goodness (17). Yet, our heavenly Father does know what we need, so we may well cast our anxiety on him because He cares for us.
