Namman saw highly of himself so that he couldn't believe that he should be healed in such a plain and ordinary way--washing himself seven times in the Jordan. Following God's order seemed to minimize his masculinity (2ki 5: 8-14).
Namman wanted to heal his leprosy just as we hope that our sin can be taken away. What it requires is simply humbling oneself and obeying the Lord. The captivated young girl showed to us what mere confidence was (2Ki 5:3-4).
After Namman was healed, he wished the Lord to forgive himself. Being reflective, he called himself a servant (2Ki 5: 18). This act was a sharp contrast with that of the Israelites who made burnt offerings and sacrificed to any other god but the Lord.
