The direct descriptions like "stripping you in front of them," "seeing all your nakedness," etc. indeed seem unpleasant to me. But these words reflected the strong anger and wrath of the Lord toward detestable idols. Why he said so might be because his intolerance of the worshipping the wrong god couldn't be over-emphasized. Yet, honestly speaking, I'm not that comfortable with the language used in this way.
