The islanders were pretty superstitious, when they saw Paul survived a snake, they said he was a god (Ac 28: 6). Just like the crowd in Iconium (14: 11-18), they regarded Barnabas and Paul as gods, even wanting to offer sacrifice to them. Men are blind. Yet, it is also a good timing to spread gospel, and that's what Paul did.
