I'm not sure whether Gog and Magog are the same referents in Eze (38:2) and in Re (20:8). In my view, they are symbolic of the evil party against the Lord.

Yet the message conveyed here is clear: The Lord would like to save His people from their enemies and from the hand of all who hate them (Lu 1:71). The tents of the wicked will be no more (Job 8:22).
