According to Paul, Christ is compared to the body, which is a unit. We are all given the Spirit to drink to be one of the many parts of the body.

In addition, God has arranged the parts in the body, just as He wanted them to be (1Co 12:20). Each of us is a part of the body of Christ. Everyone with his/her own gifts in the church can undertake certain responsibility.

We ought to exert or present our gifts but there is nothing to be proud of since each gift is given by the Holy Spirit. All the diverse gifted parts all go to the unique body-- God.
