[草戊尚土靈修俱樂部] 三年讀經默想與題目 (草戊尚土) 100401有新意見。

Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord (Ro 12:19). We should be very careful about praying for God to bring judgment upon other people.

If we do, make sure that we are asking for God to judge them for the evil they have done against Him and not because of what they have done against us. The Bible also says, "Bless those that curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you" (Lu 6:28).

David was simply praying that those who were evil before God would receive what they deserved because they had brought it upon themselves (Ps 120:11). Before we begin praying for God to bring judgment upon anyone, stop and think about what we deserve. It would be better to pray that the Lord will forgive them for their evil deeds—like He has already forgiven us.
