"…greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and make a man "unclean" (Mr 7:22-23). The Lord hates greedy acts so anyone who is too greedy will be buried in the graves of greed (Nu 11:34).

The Israelites' wishes to enjoy gourmet are not wrong but their intention leads them to sin. When we focus ourselves on a certain thing without second thought, we tend to fall into the grave of greed.
