神會管教或懲治祂所愛的兒女。
【管教或懲治之因? 】
這如同丈夫，呼召行淫背離的妻子，希望她回心轉意。
【神管教或懲治的態度? 】
神看重人心，甚於燔祭祭祀。
神藉著先知何西阿，再收納不貞的妻，表明祂永遠不移的愛。神慈愛的聲音說："我必醫治他們背道的病，甘心愛他們。（何14:4）
【神管教或懲治的方法? 】
聖經中至少有3處地方有類似的說法:
-來吧，我們歸向耶和華！他撕裂我們，也必醫治；他打傷我們，也必纏裹。(何6:1)
-神所懲治的人是有福的！所以你不可輕看全能者的管教。因為他打破，又纏裹；他擊傷，用手醫治（伯5:15）。
-他纏裹他百姓的損處，醫治他們的鞭傷。(賽31:26)

God cares more about the motive behind each religious ritual. As long as we hold a pious attitude toward Him, He is willing to listen to us. He is merciful so either sacrifice or burnt offerings are not His main concern. Devoted love and loyalty toward Him weighs more strongly than how the religious ritual is performed.

Dear All, Peng An,
I think "a positive response" is helpful for communication with others. However, it is not easy to have "a positive response" especially when you are very angry. One problem is about personal pride. If we can understand there may have some lessons from God in the criticism, then we should learn how to listen carefully and have a positive response.

何西阿生於北國耶羅波安第二在位(793-753B.C)時。在耶羅波安第二勵精圖治下，幾乎恢復到所羅門王時代的疆土，軍事勝利、列邦進貢、商貿興盛，但物質的繁榮也孳生社會的不平與罪惡，權貴貪婪不法，社會上層奢糜，貧富差距懸殊，農村人民放棄耕地到都市謀生。
這景況和我們的社會似乎有些相似之處。先知、祭司、領袖、君王，本是有責任將民眾導入正路的，而神所要的是什麼呢？我深信一直都是要人：行公義、好憐憫、存謙卑的心，與神同心同行。
當我們看到台灣的貧富差距也愈來愈大時，願我們都謙卑回轉向神，追求更深地認識祂，求祂賜智慧、愛心、能力給我們，使我們活出祂所喜悅的生命，在自己所處的環境中產生正面影響力。

我把他解讀為：神喜愛良善（憐恤）之人的祭祀，喜愛認識神之人的燔祭。
祭祀和燔祭都是神所吩咐的，但神所在意的不是牛羊（What we do），而是獻祭之人與祂的關係（What we are）。
求主幫助我「務要認識耶和華，竭力追求認識他」(6:3)。

"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger"(Pr 15: 1). The day before yesterday I had a quarrel with my colleague. She is a Christian as well. We both raised our voice when we were arguing, which no doubt results in intense relationship between us. I'm surprised that she apologized to me today since she is much more senior to me. She quoted this verse in her apology so these words seem pretty striking to me.
I wish to have a heart of the righteous for "it weighs its answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil"(15:28). It does take wisdom in communicating with others.

Jehoshaphat king of Judah highly respected the Lord in his life. He appointed judges in the land and ordered them to serve faithfully and wholeheartedly. As a leader, he learned from the Lord when and how to use his power.
In the situation against the odds, he proclaimed a fast for all Judah. He led his people to stand in the presence before the temple that bears His name. When calamity came upon him and his people, whether the sword of judgment, or plague or famine, he always remembered to give thanks to the Lord for His love endures forever.
