The Sabbath helps us strikes a balance between work and rest. Mankind needs rest to experience physical renewal. The beauty of the Sabbath is that we do not feel guilty on that day if we totally ignore the demands of work. Then our minds are at rest, focused on Jesus, and we are at peace with God.
Besides, on the Sabbath we have time to re-examine our priorities. We need time to withdraw from the rush of life. The Sabbath teaches us not to find ultimate fulfillment in work. Materialism should be all put aside on the Sabbath, so that we can find joy and contentment from the God.

The Lord is pleased with perfect or pure sacrifices only. Defected ones cannot represent the holiness and cleanness of the Lord. We have to devote the best of our time, capabilities and treasures to the Lord so as to reveal the true meaning of worshipping.

從利未記21章裡，我們看到「祭司當守的規律」 包括：1）謹慎事奉──「祭司不可為民中的死人沾染自己」（利未記 21:1）。2）上帝對祭司要求嚴格，因為祭司是在民中為首，就不可從俗沾染自己。祭司負有領導職責，他的責任與與上帝對他的要求成為正比（利未記 21:4）。3）祭司的家庭與婚姻生活要有見證。家庭教養成為牧養會眾的榜樣，因此祭司必須好好教導兒女，免致他們墮落。例證：以利的兩個兒子是惡人，不認識耶和華。不遵守耶和華的規律典章他們二人一日同死，他們家中必永遠沒有一個老年人。以他們的下場為鑑（撒母耳記上 2:12；32；34 ）。

從這段經文來看，上帝所喜悅的獻祭標準可規納為
1） 祭物必須是『沒有殘疾的』（利未22：19）。
2） 獻祭者必須按照『上帝規定』的獻祭，才蒙上帝悅納。

4） 獻祭者必須過『聖潔』生活。

Priest shall be holy to God, so they had to be aware that whether their acts and words profaned Him or not. In general, they should stay in the sanctuary, performing all the rituals earnestly and seriously.
None of them shall defile the Lord for the dead among His people except for his nearest kin. Nor could they let the hair of his head hang loose, etc. In all, they shall keep in mind the LORD is the one who sanctifies them.

上帝要以色列民遵守律例典章， 過「分別為聖」的生活，才能歸耶和華為聖。
利未記20章的主題，乃是針對倫理生活不聖潔，招致的「刑罰」。「刑罰」是父親愛兒子，為達成管教目的，而不得不採取的途徑（來12：5-11）。「刑罰」是要使上帝的選民保持聖潔身份，與迦南人的生活中分別出來；「刑罰」是要使上帝的選民受警惕，勿玷迦南人習俗的罪污。所以，上帝的管教，要使我們得益處，在祂的聖潔上有分。

The Lord our God has separated the Israelites from other peoples, so they are not allowed to follow the aliens' customs. This might arouse the Lord anger and He even would vomit them out from the land where He brings them to dwell. We should be reminded not to take what the Lord gives us for granted and never go astray from the road He has paved for us.
