The guilt offering reminded people of the plan Heavenly Father had put together long ago that would eventually compensate or satisfy the guilt of all humanity. His plan was to send a Servant who would offer his life as the final "guilt offering." This Servant would not only atone for all sin, but undo all wrongs by making restitution to God on our behalf.

Yet if we are not willing to repent or humble ourselves, then His death could not have effect on us, as is shown in Psalm 51:16-17, "You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise."
