John baptizes people with water; but Jesus with the Holy Spirit. Water has the cleansing function while the Holy Spirit changes the whole life of people. Jesus then was tempted by Satan in the wilderness in every way but He did not sin. He outwins Satan so we are then able to approach God's throne of grace with confidence. We may receive mercy and find grace in our time of need as well.
