These verses direct us to the solemn ordination of the Levites. The Levites must be cleansed. Moses must sprinkle the water of purifying upon them. This may signify the application of the blood of Christ to our souls so that we may be fit to serve God. The holy water then refers to suffering, covenant and sacrifice.
