Dear all, Peng An,
Very good sharing. Each one of you had different kinds of observations and reflections.
We could develop some historical, political, familial, national, spiritual, personal reflection from this incidence.
This was the strategic critical point in the history of Israel nation. They would change from charismatic political, religious, and military leadership of judges into a more systematic, hierarchical, and differential leadership of kingship.
They would like to emulate the system of those countries surrounding them. Should Christian learn from non-Christians?
Was this incidence just a recorded historical event in a descriptive sense? Or this was a theological event? Was this a negative warning to us? Was kingship itself an evil political system? How about democracy?
Was there a Christian correct political system? Just some of my personal struggling querries to share with you.
